I am very much into herbals and have studied and taken them for years. Here in the US it's called Complimentary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) or Integrative Medicine.
I even have two doctors that are into it. Therefore, I only have prescription medication for when it gets so bad that the herbals can't handle it.
I believe in Biblical Creation, that being we were created from the earth itself, our tests prove that. OK, now if we were created from the earth, what's going to be more compatible with our makeup than something else from the earth? So far, it's worked for me most of the time and I will continue with it. My ancestors didn't have all of the chemicals available to them that we do today, they survived with what they knew and had passed down for decades. Look at all the years that the Chinese have survived on herbals.
It's all in knowing what's going to work and taking proper precautions before using them.

I do use some herbal medicines and natural rememdies. You do need to be careful if you are taking prescription meds that there is no interaction, anything can be harmful to certain people. For instance I have low blood pressure and an herbal med. I wanted to take for something else also lowered b/p, so I couldn't take it. I also have some allergies and have to be sure I'm not allergic to any of the ingredients. As with anything it's best to know what you are taking, find out the ingredients and what they are for. Make sure you get products from a reputable company and that the ingredients are standardized so they will be uniform in the products.

I am not into any medicines. Haven't taken anything since about 1995....I'm disgustingly healthy.
For slight arthritis, I take ibuprofen when I need it. If I have a vicious cold, Ibuprofen, Drixoral and Robitussin does it for me....plus lots of liquids and home made chicken soup...YUM. Also, Vicks on the throat and under the nose at bedtime.....might not do anything but sure feels good.
If I have a little heartburn now and then, a 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda in a little water takes care of it.
Tummy ache? Sip ginger ale and keep your hot water bottle up against your belly.
Allergies? Hard to find because it is cheap and simple: Chlorotrymeton.....costs under $1.00 for 100......
My kids are both vegetarians and have been for over 20 years. They use the herbal's and have made me more aware of what medications I keep around...but, frankly, I have been using the same remedies since I was a child and I'm not dead yet....so something is working.....HA!

I am not into it, but I would not rule out using. I just purchased some flaxseed oil for one of the omega-fats that is good for lowering cholesterol. As with anything, these herbals products have not been approved by our Food and Drug Administration so I try to be careful since I am taking Rx medication.

Yes, very much so. In August 2000, My ear doctor ordered a M.R.I. to determine why I had lost 95% of my hearing, on the left side. That mri revealed a 'brain' tumor. After several visits with nuerologists, and all they wanted to do was operate, and since they gave me a low survival percentage rate, I told them all to kiss off !!
I moved to a desert mountain valley town in North Central Mexico, and bought certain herbs that were not available, here in the USA.
I have had that tumor STOPPED from growing, since 2002 !!!
I also enrolled into the Veterans Health Care System, and 'donated' my living body to medical research.
Up until 2005, I consulted about herbs, until my attorney advised me to stop, since anyone who 'followed' my advice and died, I WOULD BE 'WIDE OPEN' to a civil lawsuit by the heirs.
I still return, from time to time, to my Mexican Mountain Valley retirement home and enjoy life, and stock up on the herbs.
I will advise everyone that to "ASSIST" in eleminating medical maladies, 'REMOVE ALL STRESS, ANGER, FRUSTRATIONS, AND TERMOIL" !!! Very Important to have a relaxing life !!!!!!!!!

Just St John's wort for seasonal affective disorder only very occasionally. Even natural herbals need to be monitored judiciously. They have side effects, too.

I am very interested and wanted to go to the Australian Academy of Natural Medicine over here in Perth but I just couldn't afford the cost of the course.
Unfortunately its not like Uni where the govt pays!!! I wish it was.
I do have books on the subject and in my opinion closer to nature is closer to god.
