I speak english, obviously, can stumble along in French, read it much better than I speak or understand it spoken to me. I can get by in Mandarin fairly well. I know a few words in Spanish but wouldnt say I can speak it. I used to understand quite a bit of Italian, my friends and neighbours in the old neighbourhood were Italian.

I always wanted to learn Norwegian, but the next language I learn will be Japanese.

This is from an AAP report this morning. A Government who won"t fund this drug and help the dying?

Wednesday November 14, 10:22 AM (Australia)
Govt rejects funding breast cancer drug
A drug for women with advanced breast cancer has been rejected for a government subsidy, prompting calls to have it added to a specialist funding scheme.

Tykerb was approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) in August but has since been turned down twice for a subsidy under the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS).

The expensive drug is designed for women with the extremely fast-moving HER2-positive form of breast cancer who have failed on the blockbuster drug Herceptin.

The pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) currently subsidises the $45,000 treatment under an access scheme with the hope it would win a PBS subsidy.

But a government advisory committee last week refused to reimburse Tykerb for reasons that are not yet clear.

This is a website for anyone who wants to save money. Who does not want to throw their mixer or coffepot, or computer out, just to get a newer model.
Type in Fixya, just like that to get the site. Now scroll down to the object you wish to fix. Really good directions.
And sound advice.

Remember when we were young & made fun of everyone? Yes we got punished for it, yet we still did it. Wasn't it fun to get the old people mad at us? I had one neighbor who chased me with a water hose when I came near his rose garden. I learned how to dodge his water attacks. Now, SOME of you have to remember how much fun it was. ADMIT IT...come on, share what you used to do as a kid.

I took my son to the first Space Shuttle landing at Edwards Air Force base, California. I took him out of school for the event. My dad worked on the space shuttle. We bought him a baseball cap and rush to Rockeydyne to give it to him before work ended that day. It was a very cool event that neither my son or myself will EVER forget!

Others say that Jesus is God's son. So which is right in your religion and why? I have my own opinion about this. I'm just interested about the difference of opinions on the subject.

Members of the Yahoo! Answers team will be in the Washington, D.C., area, on November 30 and we thought it would be a great opportunity to meet up with folks in the Answers community who live on the East Coast. Nothing formal or fancy, just a fun evening of food, drink, and conversation with others who are just as passionate about Yahoo! Answers as you are. So if you live in or near the nation’s capital (or even if you’re just passing through), please come and meet the people behind Yahoo! Answers, as well as your fellow Answerers.

We’ve reserved an area at Clyde’s Restaurant in Tysons Corner that can accommodate ~50 people, so come early so you don't miss out! Please RSVP (you must be at least 18 years old to attend) to let us know you’re coming!

We hope to see you on November 30!

Cost: free event.

I just got my first violation for calling a moron on the sports section "stupid." He was talking very ugly to fans of a certain football team, so I called him stupid. I didn't know that would get me a violation. I thought only dirty talk got violations. Although "stupid" is pretty dirty, I admit.

I use this site as recreation all the time...it is filled with seniors, and very many of them are in a less that ideal situation. I mean, there are many here who are worried about where the next meal is coming from! WE all give to charity...would it be possible to form our own charity group here and help out those few who have shown such kindness to us all? IT takes so little to help so much...I know that many will say "scam," but think about it and let me know what you think. I, for one, would rather contribute something each month to our far less fortunate brothers and sisters here than give my money to unknown charities who spend more on administration than they do on the actual charity work! Here, all money could be used to really be a huge help to those in dire need. I am being too far out? I all but bleed when I read of some of the things that go one here. Please let me know your thoughts...either here or by personal email. Love and peace, Phil
