Remember when we were young & made fun of everyone? Yes we got punished for it, yet we still did it. Wasn't it fun to get the old people mad at us? I had one neighbor who chased me with a water hose when I came near his rose garden. I learned how to dodge his water attacks. Now, SOME of you have to remember how much fun it was. ADMIT IT...come on, share what you used to do as a kid.

Facinating. Can you see the humor in making fun of an old person who steadfastly swears that they have NEVER EVER done anything wrong when they were young?
Perhaps this is why the youth are picking on some of us...they just don't believe in all of this perfection.
So, what makes it ok to attack the youth, I wonder?

Anyone over 50 was also taught to live by this rule: "2 wrongs don't make 1 right."

I would have loved to see that water hose attack. It was probably fun for you and your neighbor. I was taught to be respectful of those "old people". If I was disrespectful I wouldn't be able to sit down for a week. I respect those who are older and younger than myself. We are all in this world together and we need to get along and work things out together.

Sorry, but I didn't make fun of anyone/everyone when I was young nor did I do anything to upset my neighbors. If I had done such things, I would have been punished severely. I liked my neighbors & most were elderly. I enjoyed visiting with them on their front porches when the weather allowed me to do so. I didn't make fun of people either, as I was taught better than that. I was taught at a very early age to respect the elderly & that I did.

Nope I sure didn't. I was taught at a very young age to respect my elders no matter what. I was also taught that those older folks were someones grand parents and how would I like it if someone was mean or nasty toward my own grand parents. I knew what would happen to me when I got back home if I was to "act up" with someone.
EDIT: I am 51. I was taught to respect everyone no matter what their age was. And another thing, I did not act up in a store either, or else I paid the price when we got home and some times paid for it right then and there IN THE STORE!!

There was an elderly lady that lived next to my family when I was young. I thought she was nuts because, in one of the very few times she spoke to me, she said she used to be the Queen of Peru. (Peru doesn't even have Queens.) I told her I didn't believe her. Why would an ex-queen of Peru live in a middle income house in Flagstaff, AZ? So she got angry and told me to stay out of her yard (never went in her yard to begin with). So she'd watch me out the window when I was close to the dividing fence. Sometimes I'd just sit on the fence so she would wonder what I was going to do. My other neighbor was a fighter pilot in WW II, and he was really cool. He was smart about life and could convey that to me in a way that I could absorb, plus he had a lot of good stories.

I used to enjoy the old people. My mom always worked and I used to go home to an empty house but there were lots of oldies who apparently enjoyed my company. OK some of them were nuts but a nice nuts.
One lady I remember caught me stealing her plums. She patiently said to me that if I wanted to bring a bucket over, when the plums got ripe, I could help her to harvest the plums and could take a the bucket full with plums home. Somehow the plums never quite tasted as good after that as when they were sour and stolen. But the lady's home made cakes and cups of tea were fantastic ( I must have been about 6 years old I was going to school but not tall enough to get into my house after school because I couldn't reach the keyhole.)

When I was little, I thought everyone was old, but the oldest people I knew were my grandparents and everyone in the neighbourhood knew and respected them . My brother and I used to take a shortcut through a neighbours driveway to school but she used to come out and yell at us so we didn't do that anymore.
My husband and I are the oldest people in our neighbourhood and I have never felt any animosity from anyone because of our age and I hope it stays that way.

Your question is asking if we ever made fun of or despised older people when we were kids, not whether or not we ever did any thing wrong growing up. So it's sort of unfair to imply in your 'additional details' that you don't believe all the people who replied with a "no" when you are changing the characterization of the question in your 'additional details' to include "NEVER EVER done anything wrong when they were young?"
I've done plenty of things to get into trouble growing up, but making fun of my elders was not one of them. I had all good neighbors who were like grandparents to me.

I rang doorbells and ran.
My kids squirted the next door neighbors with a hose and wrote in lipstick once on their car because they complained about our dog. Of course we delt with that behavior and it stopped.
Addendum in response to askers later posting:
No way can I justify now nor then that it's OK to pick on anyone; not a senior nor anyone else. Even cranky people don't deserve this.

Growing up the Seniors I knew were very good to me. I would have never thought of making fun of them. There were a few neighbors, seniors, I would go over to their house and play card games, borad games and one even taught us her kind of dance while we taught her ours. Those were fun days.
