Others say that Jesus is God's son. So which is right in your religion and why? I have my own opinion about this. I'm just interested about the difference of opinions on the subject.

I was raised Methodist. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God. In the Lord's Prayer I always say "forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors" When I first heard it said this way, "....those who tresspassed against us", I was certain that they were all wrong. In high school I changed to Christian Science. I still believe that God is all in all and that Jesus is the son of God. We are the son's and daughter's of God, for God is All in All. Meeting Catholics and other religions that belive in the Trinity, I was really confused. We are all Christian, but we all believe differently. With all our hearts and soul, we only believe what we are taught to be real. You asked for my opinion, this is it. God is within every visible and invisible atom ever created. God created his son Jesus to come to earth and teach.

I am a Muslim, and here is exactly what I believe about Jesus and What the Quran has told us about him:

The Qur'an tells us a lot of wonderful things about Jesus. As a result, believers in the Qur'an love Jesus, honour him, and believe in him. In fact, no Muslim can be a Muslim unless he or she believes in Jesus, on whom be peace.

The Qur'an says that Jesus was born of a virgin, that he spoke while he was still only a baby, that he healed the blind and the leper by God's leave, and that he raised the dead by God's leave.

What then is the significance of these miracles? First, the virgin birth. God demonstrates his power to create in every way. God created everyone we know from a man and a woman. But how about Adam, on whom be peace? God created him from neither a man nor a woman. And Eve from only a man, but not a woman. And, finally, to complete the picture, God created Jesus from a woman, but not a man.

What about the other miracles? These were to show that Jesus was not acting on his own behalf, but that he was backed by God. The Qur'an specifies that these miracles were performed by God's leave. This may be compared to the Book of Acts in the Bible, chapter 2, verse 22, where it says that the miracles were done by God to show that he approved of Jesus. Also, note that Jesus himself is recorded in the Gospel of John to have said, "I can do nothing of my own authority" (5:30). The miracles, therefore, were done not by his own authority, but by God's authority.

What did Jesus teach? The Qur'an tells us that Jesus came to teach the same basic message which was taught by previous prophets from God—that we must shun every false god and worship only the one true God. Jesus taught that he is the servant and messenger of that one true God, the God of Abraham. These Quranic teachings can be compared with the Bible (Mark 10:18; Matthew 26:39; John 14:28, 17:3, and 20:17) where Jesus teaches that the one he worshipped is the only true God. See also Matthew 12:18; Acts 3:13, and 4:27 where wefind that his disciples knew him as Servant of God.

The Qur'an tells us that some of the Israelites rejected Jesus, and conspired to kill him, but Allah (God) rescued Jesus and raised him to Himself. Allah will cause Jesus to descend again, at which time Jesus will confirm his true teachings and everyone will believe in him as he is and as the Qur'an teaches about him.

Jesus is the Messiah. He is a word from Allah, and a spirit from Him. He is honoured in this world and in the hereafter, and he is one of those brought nearest to Allah.

Jesus was a man who spoke the truth which he heard from God. This can be compared with the Gospel According to John where Jesus says to the Israelites: "You are determined to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God" (John 8:40).

I am a born again Christian.
As a believer in the Holy Bible as the word of God, who created the Heavens & Earth, Jesus is the son of God. He is also God. He was there in the beginning along with God and also was involved in creation. Jesus, God, & the Holy Spirit are all one. The Trinity. Without ever truley studying the Bible, along with all other religions, you would never be able to accept this or believe it or understand it.

There are three parts of the Holy Trinity. Three "spearate people". God The Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit.

It is like three CEO's holding the same position in ONE company. They all work together, but are seperate identies.

If you read the first Chapter of Genesis, you will see , God refer to "Let US make man in our image".Her you need to understand the Old Testament Laws, for the Atonement of sin. They were required to bring animals to the High Priest, who would then take their sacrifice into the Holy of Holies and present it to God. ONLY the High Priest (always selected fro the Tribe of Judah), was permitted to into the Holy of Holies.

Then with the birth, life, crusfiction and resurecctiion of Jesus Christ, (also a desendend from The Tribe of Judah through King David, on both His mother, Mary's side and Joseph's side), became the LAST High Priest. He shed His blood on the cross, as a ONE TIME and END of the old system, atonement for sins. He told His disciples that He was going to the Father (see below), but would send the Holy Spirit, the paraclete, and comforter, who is omnipresent on earth with us today.

Jesus no sits at the Right Hand of the Father, interceeding for us. See Matthew 26:36 -39. He prayed to His Father.

The site below is one of the best to understand the transition from the Old Testament to the New Testament. Hope you read this, there are a lot of answers. Hope it helps.

Well, see, God is explained to be infinite. With that in mind, Jesus is God's son, but he is still God too according to Roman Catholic teachings. I guess you could consider him a subset of God, but no evidence suggests that he did or didn't have all of God's powers (this is all assuming that God is real, I am an agnostic, so I don't make assumptions). Other faiths such as Islam and Judaism hold Jesus in very high regard, but do not claim that he is divine (in fact, his divinity was decided by a vote at the council of Nicea, so it is somewhat of a flimsy call). It's not impossible for an individual to be a part of the whole and be the whole at the same time. I know many will think that is not logical; it is entirely logical. You can use set theory to reconstruct these simple examples, and mathematicians and logicians have a lot of faith in set theory.

Dear Granny,

I rather tend to agree with nommiemv,Nanny.Initially I was indeed impressed with the various questions you asked and the wide field they covered. Are you keeping well,Nanny ,now a days your questions are tending to be rther lukewarm. Do ask something which crosses national, religious and terrotorial boundaries. YQA is not open only toChristins or Americans or Britons. In fact the questioner's identity is cleverly camouglaged behind the avtar.

On the quesion in question I found the answer of Proud to be a Muslim(endorsed by Renee and s1k29406)very interesting.I am an Indian and a Hindu by religion. From the answer of 'Proud Muslim 'i find that Christ has also been accorded the status of a messenger of god even in the Holy Koran(though Mohammed was the last Paigambar). We Hindues also regard all religious preachers as extolling god as they understood and hence venerable. In fact, in Kashmir there is a masoleum where Jesus is believed to have been interred and is venerated by one and all.For us Christ is what Christians do. Whosoever he was the one who inspired Mother Teressa must have been great. We believe that the greatness of somebody does not lie in whether he is god or his son but how his teachings are.

I believe in Trinity, The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit all being one entity. The Holy Spirit was sent back by Jesus after the resurrection as our Holy Comforter.

Hon, It is really simple.

God is the source, the energy, the main head, The Power.
Jesus is the face of God
The Holy Spirit is the voice of God.

Just like parts of the body, You have hands, feet, eyes, arms, legs. Different entities, but part of the same whole being we call the body, Or as I call it, the Earth Suit. {:-)

I am a Christian and believe Jesus is God.
I grew up in a church that taught they were two separate beings.
It has taken me years to completely understand that God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are one and the same. As I have aged I have become more comfortable with what I believe. I am grateful first to God who showed me he is my Father and that the Bible is true. I am thankful for the preachers and people who helped me understand the Bible.

Jesus IS God...come to earth. Mary was the mother of the man child Jesus, who was/is God's son.
The Trinity is difficult for HUMANS to wholly comprehend. How can God be THREE yet ONE? It's simple yet too complex for the human mind to fathom. I've heard (and even used) various comparisons: water as liquid/gas/ice yet still water; an egg...the yoke, albumin, the shell yet still an egg; even humans...body, soul, spirit.
So much about our heavenly Father is difficult for us to understand. The things He DOES can be difficult to understand.
Jesus was/is God in human form.
To me, personally, JESUS did not exist until CHRIST came to earth in the form of a human baby. JESUS is Christ/God's earthly NAME.
I once read: God the Father decides what's to be done; God the Holy Spirit provides the power; God the Son/Christ does the work. Compare Genesis 1:1 with John 1:1. Who is being spoken of?
Ok, I'm starting to ramble and get off the subject. THE END. he he

I am a Baptist and I was taught that Jesus is the Son of God, a part of the Holy Trinity, The Father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost. I have always been confused as to the identity of The Holy Ghost. You would think at my age I would know all of these things.
