I was driving home from work one day, and I decided to pass this little car that was weaving back and forth in the lane. As I passed I glanced over, and there was a lady steering the car with her knee, while using both hands to knit something. The basket and skane of yarn were in the passenger seat. Talk about multi-tasking.

You would probably be sharing a room with someone else, and would only have space for a few things besides your clothes. Knowing you would never be going home again, what would you not like to lose

I've noticed that not everyone is aware that there have been some changes to what physicians consider the range for normal blood pressure readings. My husband and I are trying to change some of our habits, especially getting more excercise. His blood pressure is higher than it should be.

I found this quiz as I was answering a question in the Health section, and thought you all might like to give it a try:

Have all you seniors out there been warned that prisoners in jail, now have access to computer rooms. That nice person, that has been e mailing you, may have been sent to jail for aggravated robbery and assault and may be trying to find out where you are located, so when he is released he can rob you. That nice teenager with the sad story may not be a teen at all. My daughter and son keep warning me about this.
And some prisons have work programs, that inmates are enrolled in, where you order things for your home, and they can easily find out your address.

My daughter's boyfirend showed me this. It cuts out a lot of the time wasted on searching. Eg. You are looking for Cars. Type in like this.
"Cars" Put the parenthesis at the begining of your search AND the end. Another way is to put the word ALERT after, but this brings up a lot of stuff with 'alert' written inot the text.

I'm sorry to say this, but Greeks do not show a lot of respect for the elderly. Taxis avoid stopping when they see an elderly person with a cane looking for a taxi. Public transport expects the elderly to pay the full price for a ticket. The ticket inspectors will demand any elderly who has mistakenly lost or stamped the ticket more than once to pay a fine.

If they want to speak with an elderly person whom they do not know, they adress them as Grandma or Grandpa, not even caring if this bothers them or not... as if they don't have an identity of their own.

My mother is 75 years old and has to walk with a cane. she always tries to cross the roads as quickly as possible, but the pain makes her movements a bit slow. She has heard comments from drivers like... "Get out of the street old woman! "You should stay at home old woman!"

They make her cry. Why??!!!

Does your country respect the elderly? Which country do you live in?

So if you pick them up just post an article in 'The ODD SPOT'

Or to My Girl Friends Kitchen? I understand these places do all the prep work, peeling, dicing, chopping, and the food is placed in large containers, and a receipe for a main course hung up, along with a desert receipe. And you measure the ingrediets for the main course, say three main courses, and mix and put them into plastic containers and then wrap them up, seal, tape and label them and then take them home and put them in your freezer, to be taken out later and eaten. I understand you can do as many as you wish.
If any of you have done this, were the meals good, well thought out, expensive. Would you do it again?

I remember as a child one Halloween sitting on my sister's lap in the kitchen at the farm. I remember we didn't have a TV, but we had a radio and one of the stations had a special because it was Halloween. I realize now that the original broadcast had happened in the 1930's, but this was like about 1952 and I remember the program that was one even though I was about 4. I just wonder if anyone else heard it. Maybe not then, but before 1952.

This was what it was and it's all here... http://www.earthstation1.com/pgs/radio/dos-War_of_the_Worlds.ram.html

My mother needs a full time caretaker 24 hours a day. I am that caretaker. I cannot get a job because of this. My mother gets a check for $1300 every month and she has no savings. I was wondering if I could get some kind of financial aid to help with my bills because I am barely making ends meet anymore! I dont want to put my mom in a nursing home, she'd get so confused and sad. I dont mind taking care of her, it's hard, but has it's rewards. I just need to pay my bills!
THANK YOU for any info.
