Yes, I often do. I frequently drive late at night, and wonder why the other drivers are on the road - what is their story ? I would find it fascinating to know what brought us all to this particular place at this time.

Well, everyone has a story! The older I get the more intrigued I am by the life stories of people I meet. Sometimes the ones who seem the most ordinary at first glance actually have had quite extraordinary experiences. I think most of us are so busy that we become very wrapped up in ourselves, and it would do us all good to reach out to others more.

I wonder that too and also when I see planes flying over. When I worked in the grocery store I'd sometimes notice what people bought. I'd wonder did they have big families, were they alone, getting ready for a date or company, etc. It's interesting to watch others and imagine what they or their lives are like. I'm sure there are some very interesting stories out there.

Many years ago I used to wonder where people were going and wish they would give me ride if they were going the same way. When I see people at a bus stop some times I would like to give them a ride, but of course they would think you are crazy.
The best place to hear peoples stories would be to go to a nursing home or a senior center and spend some time with some of them. They are glad to share and have some one to talk to.

I often wonder this in the Air Ports too.... just where is everyone going? I like to go into the coffee shop and invite someone to share my table... there are never enough tables!
It's amazing the diversity of people and the journeys they are on... at times it's very sad, other times happy... I swear during one flight delay (well it was an 8 hour delay) while sitting at that table enjoying my coffee and smokes, I encountered at least 15 different people... all with worlds of their own... it was amazing!
Try it sometime!!!

Yes I agree with you, I think the same thing when I pass all the houses at night lit up and curtains drawn. You wonder what's happening in the lives of all the people who live in those homes? There's probably many a good tale or two behind each closed door.

I live in a town of about 35,000 people. When I see a lot of traffic I wonder where the heck everyone is going. And of course half of them are talking on a cell phone. Can everyone be going shopping? I am. It's the middle of the day. They aren't going to and from work. It's a mystery.

I don't drive, but yes, I always wonder! I imagine where they're going too, like the woman on her way home from the shops, or the man going to pick his kids up from school, and so on. Sometimes my inner child gets the better of me and I imagine how likely they are to have an affair. I have too much time on my hands sometimes, I think.

Yeah, but just what are your chances of getting a complete stranger to talk to you in an HONEST manner? Go ahead & give it a try. You might just get someone to open up to you!
Me? I no longer care about the other drivers until they start to drive erratically...only then do I start to wonder about them & their driving skills...yet, I can't think of a time that I ever wondered about their lives! Things that make ya go hmmmmm!

every person has a book of their life , good, bad, or indifferent. I just wished they would use their turn signals, fix their brake lights, quite going slow in the speed lane,be aware of their surroundings, get off the phone and drive, quit applying make-up in the rear view mirror and finally quit slowing down to point out "Look Marge, a palm tree !"
