I just got my first violation for calling a moron on the sports section "stupid." He was talking very ugly to fans of a certain football team, so I called him stupid. I didn't know that would get me a violation. I thought only dirty talk got violations. Although "stupid" is pretty dirty, I admit.

I wouldn't be ashamed. You could have called him a lot worse than stupid and you didn't.

Be proud. We've earned the right to speak our mind. I got a violation today too. It was because I made the mistake of saying the question was the "lamest question I've ever read on YA" (it was in politics). I admit it was a bit on the rude side but there are so many posters who think bad language, finger-pointing and name calling is ok.
Don't you dare hang your head in shame. People are getting crankier and pickier. Some just can't take the truth!

Don't be ashamed I sure you were well within your rights!!! Its just the way things pan out some times. I have seen much much worse than that on Y!A and the people get away with it!!!. There is just no way of knowing what will earn you a violation and when. It was bound to happen sooner or later so you have now 'joined the club'.
Ignore it and continue!!!

What I don't understand about this is that you are not shown WHO reported you. Like someone said, there is no human in the process, just numbers and when someone gets flagged a certain number of times, the answer gets pulled for a violation.

If, say, 5 of us wanted to gang up on someone, we could flag every answer they gave, good or bad and they'd get kicked? SAD !

I think people who answer "idk" should get violations. OR at least it should be up to the Asker to not give them the 2 points for a STUPID answer like that.

Anyway, don't lose any sleep over it and don't let it effect your sex life. Some people can't hold their own head high so they feel they need to put down other people. Don't let them get to you.

Hi Teresa - CJ here - be proud of what you did. This is a free
country and the first amendment assures us the right to free speech. I do not think that 'stupid' is a rude word. I have seen far worse on here. So hold up that pretty head of yours and speak out on what you know. Here's an attagirl for you along with a star!

Don't feel bad I also got my first violation for saying "I see St up id People" to that gal's question on Seniors, that wanted to take the milk and papers from her neighbor doorstep. She alluded to the fact that he had not picked them up in a while and there were fly's in the window. (ie: he was dead). I also told her it was not a joke and was not funny. Here question should have been given a violation.!!!!!
We win some, we lose some. YA is not going to listen to any thing we say in rebuttal so, we should just ignore it and go about our day.

Here in Seniors you get violated for making people LAUGH, so go figure!

Bottom line is, if a person has enough multiple identities to post over the required limit of violation reports against you, then you get your answer removed and a violation notice in your email. There are no humans involved in the decision making process.

For sure, don't hang your head. Violations usually depend on who's minding the store, so to speak. Probably what happened, is that the guy has friends in that category, and reported the word because they felt the need to protect him. Many people use it on Y&A, it is against community guidelines, but most of us overlook it.

Maybe you could have said it a little differently, but you just told him what you thought. If he was insulting other people he should have been the one to get the violation.
I got a violation one night for asking if anyone else saw the full moon. They said it was for 'chatting', like all the questions on here are really serious. lol Just try not to let it get you down.

Where's the beef? I call George W Bush an incredibly idiotic stupid moron all the time. I never get a violation. Probably means everyone agrees with me?

No help from the West? Rubbish. Don't you know when China opened up, our Western companies took advantage of cheap Chinese labour and poured investment into Chinese factories? Money doesn't come out of thin air, you know. I have never heard of Chinese people being ashamed- they are proud and excited about their new prosperity.
