Is it not the fault of historically white organizations that sought to exclude blacks and other minorities from participating, joining, working for, etc? Would there be no need for Affirmative Action had these white organizations not created the need?
What are your thoughts?

take it with you when you die. is this just a pointless venture or must be strive and die for the almighty dollar in order to feel satisfied in this world. some billionaire woman died and left 12 million to her dog. merv griffin died and he did not take all his millions with him. even some fool who has been lost for a week now (dont remember his name but he is into climbing kilimanjaro, breaking records in bizzare stuff ) who we all suspect is dead will not take all his money with him. the oint being is chasing the dollar a fruitless venture when we can use that time to really connect to our inner beings

I along with other co-workers joined together to get rid of a Supervisor who was breaking all kinds of company rules, and policies, and showing favoritism to his wife and a co-worker. He was also falsfying payroll. I and a couple of co-workers who been there longer train this man, and he wanted to get rid of us, because we stood in his way. All of the workers joined together, and we succeded to get rid of him and the two.
A worker who had just started with us was offer the job of Supv., because according to the company they wanted a fresh face to try to run things with no bias. Of course I, along with others were hurt. She made me her Asst.Supv., we was excited about the changes we wanted to make. She couldn't catch on to a lot of things, so I did a lot behind the scenes. Afterwhile she changed towards me, and felt I was a threat.
She then hire a lot of her friends, and doing like the last Supv. She became friends with her boss, so we feel blocked. There's only five of us left.

The instructor at a university training on racism said that white people are the privileged race, in power, and oppressive of other races and the reason why people of color have a hard time dealing with or accepting white people without resentment is because they feel they are being oppressed. If you are of color please tell me if you agree that white people are privileged as a race, and if so, is it a source of anger that you, as a race are being oppressed. Also, if you are of color, what is it that a white person or community can do to help relieve the anger or end the oppression? If you are white, do you feel that being white has enabled you to receive benefits over non-whites? Do you feel resented by people of color? And do you have any experiences with what works to help improve your relationships with people of color?

If anyone would like to help me better understand, because I seem to be culturally ignorant, I'd appreciate one to one email discussion.

They even think that Africa is a country without even realizing that it is a continent with about 53 countries and not all the countries are poor. The starving families which are shown on tv are only a minority who live in rural areas in villages within countries which still have war such as Sudan and Congo. Otherwise some countries have cities just like the US. And there are wealthy people who are richer than some americans.

On a news report last evening there was a story on Southall a place in London. The station name was in English and underneath in Punjabi. The area is quite a multi racial area so i guess the local council thought we have to please people by putting the station name in Punjabi as well, now the upshot is that other ethnic groups have complained, why can't they have the station name in their languages too, you can imagine how big the sign will end up as, and as i was watching i thought why should it be in any language other than English, what has happened to common sense. Even the newsreader said he thought it was political correctness gone mad. A straw poll from people said as i would, if you went to another country you wouldn't expect to see all the signs in English, so why should we pander to people who don't or won't speak the language. I am not a racist, i know we can all say that, but i cannot understand this at all.

So I prefer to date interracially and so does one of my friends.

She has a body more like Nicole Ritche and I have a body more like Beyonce. We are both black females, both 5'5 and I am lighter skinned.

I notice that black men tend to get upset or give ME more bad looks when we are both walking with white guys.

I think this is due to my body type being more desirable to black men than hers is.

I mean I never hear a black man complain that Nicole Ritche only dates white guys (even though she is mixed) But if Beyonce did it I am sure they would get mad.

All of my life I have always been underweight. Which has prevented me from being able to play certain sports when I was in highschool, I was never allowed in the field during football because I was too small. My height has never been a problem I reach about 6 feet. But it seemed like my whole life I had to work extra harder to recieve respect or to prove anything. Daily its the same comments " Your too skinny" You need to eat". You know if "just" eating was that easy. I swear I eat a lot on a daily basis but once i step on a scale I dont even gain a pound. Someone always has to comment you like you dont even know you were skinny. They put so much money into helping people lose weight, but what about people who need to gain weight? Anyone else gone through the same struggle?

I mean sure, curves are great and yes, thinness has been overemphasized in the past, but come on, people act so ignorant and immature about this matter. Do they really think the best way to show women all body types are attractive is to attack the type that as been idealized in the past? So now everyone is attractive, EXCEPT skinny women?

I'm tired of hearing size 0 and seeing picture of Nicole Richie in the bikini and a 6 ft tall model that dropped dead because she was starving herself. In reality, size 0 is a size worn most often by perfectly healthy, attractive women. It's sad when someone who is a size 12 thinks they can starve themselves down to a 0 and look good, cuz that's just not the case. There are different body types, and I'm tired of being insulted so that larger or more average sized women can feel better about themselves.

The media has always fed us bs, why do people think this is any different?

Non white people (in the USA) often refer to their clothing, music, and everything that encompasses their style as "ethnic."
Ethnic is such an incredibly broad term that using it in this manner is completely ridiculous.
If it is being used to separate the culture of non-Anglos from those of Anglo descent, the use is still wrought with inconsistencies as Anglo itself is an ethnicity.

Anglo, Irish, Jewish, Polish, Norweigan, German, Slavic, Italian, Greek, etc. are ALL ethnic groups- how did this practice become so popular and who are the fools behind it?
