Because they don't know when enough is enough. At one time, groups and organizations like the NAACP were necessary. Times have changed, and our society is now very different. The mindset of racism is still passed down to future generations, and now we see new problems popping up, such as young people who had nothing to do with slavery, segregation, etc. being persecuted because of the past.
I think the biggest problem was a failure to accurately set measurable goals and then make room for new goals once the original goals had been met. Modern society is taught to be politically correct and to embrace diversity. This fact alone should be recoginzed by the black activits and taken into consideration very strongly when planning out new actions.
Instead of planning for a future where society would be quite different than it was in the past, many of the blacks assumed society would always be the same and that their struggles would continue to be the same. Because of this self-defeatist mentality, some of them have ended up searching harder for problems when they could not find any. Without problems to face and oppression to fight against their causes would be essentially worthless. As a result we find ourselves debating the silliest things and arguing over semantics: "nappy-headed hoes".
I wouldn't say this problem is anyone's fault as far as them deserving punishment for it. However, I would say that leaders such as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson should not be supported but instead educated and taught to embrace diversity like the rest of us do. It makes for a much happier and more functional society rather than always looking for problems where none exist.

Mexicans are mulatto and mestizo. I am a product of this lineage through my mother's father, and my father who is Italian and Mexican from Jalisco with the other part Puerto Rican. Truthfully, Mexicans know they come from some African or black DNA. It's just not discussed. The food is a mix food from the African slaves that were brought to Mexico in 1550. The other part the Native Indians that mixed with the slaves that creates the Mexicans foods we eat today. I think to say all Mexicans are taught racism is not true. Mexicans are very loving and warm towards all people. Just like the other writers said it's about territory and who is calling the shots in gang rivalry. And to say that Mexicans are racist towards Blacks is truthfully hating the bloodline. Most Mexicans know this once again but I know Whites that will make statements about Mexicans being black monkeys that speak Spanish no matter how light or dark they are. I even heard Whites say that Mexicans fight with Blacks because they are ashamed of being Black and rather side with Whites who make racist blatant jokes about the Mexican people. Calling them Chinese, black negroes that speak Spanish. I moved away from those type of Whites because it made me very angry to hear them put Mexicans down.

Oh shut up. Live your life. It is a constitutional right to have whatever ideology you want---just as long as it causes no harm to anyone else. The NAACP and Black Colleges are not Racist. Why don't you do some simple google searches, look at the mission statements and then you will see.
OhKatie!: You need to read more. None of those entities seek to exclude whites or anyone else. Furthermore, they were created to level the playing field for blacks. How in the F@#$ would you feel if you weren't even considered human by the government of which you are under?
You are stupid if you think that any of those things you mentioned weren't created to help blacks and give them a voice. I hate people like you.

Black colleges are racist? my presumption is that you did not go to college at all. If you did you would know that Black colleges exist because of white people. There are some private ones, but must of them are public land-grant institutions started by the white-run government. Black colleges exist because white people did not want black kids going to white colleges. So what you are saying is that white people are/were racists not black people.
also, none of the HBCU's exclude white people. in fact, white kids go to black college for FREE! This is a fact. So while some ignorant white people are complaining about affirmative action others are taking advantage of it to get a free education.

My opinion is NOBODY will let racism go!!, I'm hispanic, and if a white person looks at me funny, I'll get an attitute, & same for any other race. I was raised in my younger years in white schools, and white people were always racist towards me. so because of that I have this certain dislike for whites, because they thought they were better!! so In my eyes whites are always usually the ones who love to point out racism when they the main ones who start all that mess!!!

danille writes:"Excuse me?? Please show statistics. Please.
You idiots always seem to leave that out of your 'hypothetic' questions.
How are Black colleges racists, when some Whites attend them? Have we forgotten that years ago there were all White colleges that didn't let Blacks attend??
Can you quit complaining??'"
show statistics about what? that people, all races, have experienced this racist attitude by blacks in america? i'm sure it is widely known that MANY people share the common theme of what is presented to you on the table of being harrassed by blacks or even witnessed the reverse racism by black leaders and civil rights movements. lets level the playing field by eliminating these so-called civil rights organization and take away the title that caters to a single race? how about it? NO?

Some minorities will always be mad at the majority for having (from birth) what they have to work for. It's the same with men and women in the workplace (or the car fix-it place), the rich and the poor, the outwardly pretty and the outwardly ugly.
They are wrong to do it. It is against their religion (if they have one). And the other minorities of their kind think they are nuts for stirring up trouble and being so angry.

You can take any ethnic group and say the same thing. Black people may have public racists, but don't white people too? Asians? Mexicans? Why give them attention to fuel the fire?
