All of my life I have always been underweight. Which has prevented me from being able to play certain sports when I was in highschool, I was never allowed in the field during football because I was too small. My height has never been a problem I reach about 6 feet. But it seemed like my whole life I had to work extra harder to recieve respect or to prove anything. Daily its the same comments " Your too skinny" You need to eat". You know if "just" eating was that easy. I swear I eat a lot on a daily basis but once i step on a scale I dont even gain a pound. Someone always has to comment you like you dont even know you were skinny. They put so much money into helping people lose weight, but what about people who need to gain weight? Anyone else gone through the same struggle?

i think you're right. poeple who are over weight are being discriminated against, as well as the underweight people. people think, oh he's/she's skinny. they MUST be anorexic. but thats not it! that's not it at ALL! i've been through that. i'm still going through that. in pe classes, playing football, whatever, if its a team sport they seem to leave you out of the team, huh? like not passing to you, or letting you be goalie. most of the time people would make me be scorekeeper. whoopdeedoo! i know exactly what you're going through.
and as for the eating thing! jeez! it's ironic because most of the people telling me to eat tell me WHILE I'M EATING A CHEESEBURGER, (um, HELLO!) haha. well, people are stupid. but i bet you've got a lot of friends. just keep with them until the world follows nicole richies example and WE'LL be the fat ones. (haha, okay, not really.)
haha. good luck with sports and "just" eating!

I understand how you feel, I was born premature so I've always been underweight. People would sometimes ask if I am anorexic or" why are you so skinny?" since I go to a small high school it's mainly people i don't really know who say it but some friends "jokingly" tease me about sometimes it doesn't really bother me but it doesn't really make sense either.
I eat a lot also and I hardly ever put and weight on and when I do I lose it really fast so even though overweight people are discriminated against lot I also think underweight or skinny people experience some of that too.

Just enjoy it now while you are young. Believe me, you will gain weight with age. I had a brother like you, six foot tall and weighed about 135 pounds or so. When I was a teen, I could wear his jeans.
Now that he is in his late 30's, he looks good. He has gradually put on weight, but he is still slender. He will never have a weight problem, and I'm speculating that you won't either. Just be happy you're not like the rest of us who have to worry about what we eat and constantly obsess over a pound here or there.
And people are just stupid about commenting on the obvious. Do you know how many times people have told me, "You have big boobs"? Like I didn't know that. Hello, I live with them. Thanks for stating the obvious. People are just rude nowadays, period. They say things that don't need to be said. It happens to all of us.

I do think extra skinny people are discriminated against. I think it is an intimidation factor. If i see some 6 foot 125lb dude walking on the same side walk toward me i'm not getting out of his way, im not picking him on my team, im not refering him to my job. however, eating is not the ultimate answer, lifting and eatting is.

Actually yes. I've started writing down the calories I intake to try to gain weight. I like foods with less calories better, so I'm learning that I have to eat MORE than other people to gain weight. Go to this website: http://www.healthninjas.com/tools/calorie.shtml And enter in your info to calculate how many calories per day you need to eat to gain a pound a week. I too get annoyed with all the sympathy given to people who need to lose weight, and then when I talk about my trouble gaining people look at me like I'm from mars. I'm only 115 pounds, and I'm 5'9".

Wear baggier clothes and rejoice in the fact that you can eat what you want.
Start complaining when someone says something this mean to you... "Don't you get tired of carrying that fat f*ing lard around on you?"...and I've heard worse.
