Im a Texan as well and you just cant carry a gun around here. You have to have a license and I dont believe many Texans have gun. Well not in the major citys (Dallas, Houston, Austin)

Lots of states have "conceal-and-carry" laws. Both Arkansas and Oklahoma have similar laws and recognize conceal-and-carry licenses from the other two states.
You DO need to take the class, pass the background check, and pay for the license.
If you're just carrrying on your own you are a criminal and you are likely to get shot by a licensed shooter.

I too am a Texan, but I don't carry guns!! but there are some states that allow gun carrying.
You ONLY NEED A HAND GUN PERMIT. I don't know if the law is the same, but use to be if someone stepped on your property(home) you were allowed to shoot them if they threatened you violently in anyway. You can have a shot gun which is what MOST country Texans have.

Hi. It's very crazy nowadays. I think you still should keep armed because you just never know what to expect. You should get a concealed weapons permit so you can carry it in holster on your person. You need to take some gun classes so you will know what to do when you need to, but more so, how not to take an innocent life and then feel awful later---avoiding prosecution, etc. I do not blame you with regards to hillbillies.

In Dallas you have to have a concealed hand gun license and be 21 or older...But you can be 16 to own a rifle and you dont need a license to own one...stupid huh..?....and if somebody breaks into your or you think they are trying to break into your home you are within every legal right to shoot them....a incident just happend like this last week

My husband has one from Texas, and, yes, you have to get a permit for it by taking a gun safety class.

Actually we have probably a lower crime rate than the bigger cities up north. Have you ever heard of a riot in Texas? We behave ourselves for the most part.

Nope. Oregon allows you to carry a gun too. Just as long as you have the required permit.

I carry mine to..... But I had to get my conceal and carry permit:) did you have to get one in texas?

Texas sounds scary to me. A lot of lunatics come from there. You should have a gun to feel safe because I heard everyone there has hunting rifles and aren't afraid to use them.
