I always take my kids trick or treating door to door, there's thousands of kids that still do so here in AZ.

In Virginia, yes.
Check out "trick or treating" on any of the urban legend sites. There never was a case of a random person tampering with treats, the cases that were reported were either done by the parents (very sick) or the child trying to get attention. And now we have raised countless kids in fear all due to an unfounded rumor!!!

My aunt lives in Tonawanda, NY, which is just outside of Buffalo. She had kids at her place for Hallowe'en. She had some new kids who had come from Niagara Falls to go trick or treating in her neighbourhood. I think that Hallowe'en was on a Sunday last year, so being a school night, NF had it on Saturday, so the kids went out on Sunday as well to areas that were doing that night.

Where we live, the kids still go door to door. I think it's more prevalant away from the big cities where there's lots of crime, etc. The smaller towns & subburbs are usually safer & they allow trick or treating.

here in SoCal everyone still goes door to door. It's more popular than the mall. I don't live in a big county though so maybe that's why. Maybe it's different in LA.

I know in NY where I used to live they did and in NC they do too. I'm not a huge fan but I'll answer the door for the little ones, it's the older ones that sometimes get on my nerves.

They do in many of our Maryland towns. They also have the mall thing...but a lot of kids still do door to door.

Good question.
I just moved into a new neighborhood a few months ago.
I hope my area is safe.
I love kids and want to see them have a blast this year.
