The 'news' only reports things to get a rise out of the viewing audience, so they will tune in, and that way they can sell more commercials.
I dont think child abductions are any higher today than several years ago.

I have too. I sometime wonder the same thing. I stop watching the news because it's sad that there are people out there that would cause harm to a defensless child. I think that the US needs to crack down on crimes against children. I think that child predators should be locked up for life. People who have killed a child should automatically be put to death. This will show people we aren't ****** around when it comes to children. Kids should be able to go outside and not worry about getting abducted ya know. It's really ridiculous.

IN just seeing the advertisement for the CNN Tuesday night special about Iraq this 7 year old girl was sold into marriage.
showed how she burned her legs and her husband allowed her to be interviewed but stayed closely by to monitor what she was saying. He was a grown man and should have known better than what they do to little girls.
They are little better than animals. After seeing her on that special I couldn't watch the show it was just to upsetting.
HOw can men be so cruel to the ones we were put on the earth to protect?

In my opinion, children are being attacked more now that ever before because we are forcing them to grow up too fast. Over the years we have become accustomed to treating children as small adults and with that, much of society has lost sight of how precious the life of a young child is. What would have never been acceptable 30 or even 20 years ago is just glanced at in modern times. So then you have the sickos who prey on that and who, as children themselves, were never taught to restrain themselves or to respect the value of childhood. Our kids today are flooded with images and music full of sex and violence and have or will develop a tolerance of this as they grow older. The blame lies on the parents of the abductors, rapists, abusers and murderers, and the parents of the abductors, rapists, abusers, and murderers of tomorrow. Love your children, but teach them boundaries, and how to cope with their emotions. It is only with parental involvement and positive role modeling that we will reclaim our children's innocence and safety.

didn't oprah have a special on molestation? she said her own experience from being a victim by the hands of her uncle and friend should help the black community as well. very strong lady!

btw......more kids are forced to stay inside than ever before, unlike the 80s, where kids used to play outdoors till midnight without parents ever worrying about their safety. today you will have all aspects of threats to worry about that could harm you children--gangs, rapist, sexual offenders(New Orleans sex offenders are still unaccounted for since the hurricane), etc.....

It is true that only "sensational" news makes the TV. TV news is all about ratings and procuring advertising revenue, not about the news. It is also true that children are more vulnerable than adults and too many parents now days have no clue where their kids are or what they're doing.

Look around you. This is a culture that victimizes its weakest members: the poor, the elderly, animals, minorities. Kids, being powerless, are on the menu in a rotten, evil society like ours.
