Why are we beset in the West with new age mystics who preach "karma" and other absurd Indian philosophies? Why do they not understand that the purpose of "karma" was to justify the racist caste system in Indian, which is also true of all related Indian "mystic" philosophy? EG: karma tells us that we can treat "untouchables" in the worst way imaginable because of the fact that they were born "untouchable", which is evidence that they committed horrific sins in their previous lives and deserve punishment in this life. In additon, karma tells us that a blind man or one in a wheelchair is not deserving of our help because he would not be there unless it was the will and punishment of God through Karma. Why do people not understand that this concept, as the central piece of Indian philosophy, was done to justify the caste system? If new age fools want to believe in reincarnation, etc, why don't they use a word other than Karma? How can anyone be fooled by a fraud like Deepak Chopra?

I personally think that I am a pretty girl but unfortunately I am not a size 0 or 00, so already I am on the fast track to being unpopular. I wear a size 14 which isn't terrible (to me at least) but people still look at me like I am some fat, lazy, irresponsible person. What they don't know is that I ace all of my college classes, I have a wonderful marriage (despite my earlier questions) and I work out for an hour a day, seven times a week. Does anyone think people will revert back to caring about people because of who they are and what they're doing with their lives instead of what they look like?

wouldn't this be considered a blatant mockery of religious symbol?
Is it now going to be acceptable to wear a yamaka as a fashion trend?

Weeks ago it was stated in yahoo that Muslims were complaining that Hollywood put them as bad guys, honestly, why should we think other wise? I honestly believe, that they are because of them blowing theselves up and etc. How can we not see them as evil? Muslims complain of Hollywood bad guy image was the title.

I heard that we mentally ill individuals statistically have a higher IQ than normal people, & normal people treat us like animals & babies & treat us like we don't know any better, & don't give us any freedom to learn & grow. They want to keep us psychologically handicapped.

So I'm asking because I've reviewed some questions in cultures & there's a lot of racist statements made by different races of people. But I am curious as to why these lame old stereotypes about Black people are still being thrown around by a few white people here. I get it all blacks are on welfare, blacks have no history, blacks are dumb, blacks are inferior. Basically it's the same stereotypes from like 1952, can you white racists not get some new material? Are you that dumb that you have to keep saying the same things over & over? None of your comments are the least bit witty or original. But anyhoo, I just wanted to know that if you believe these things are true, then why do you need to keep repeating it? If you truly believe you are superior than why would you waste your time writing about black people who you feel are low lives? When a person is truly secure and comfortable with himself he doesn't have to put anyone else down? So are you insecure and that's why you hate?

i saw pokemon the other day, for the first time since i was a child. it struck me, humans once did live this way, basing their lives with animals, however somewhere along the way that changed, now we threaten their very survival.
i of course realise, in pokemon they fight the creatures, which is hardly acceptable in reality, but i wish to know, how many people still want a world with animals?

i know it sounds weird but i was eating chinese food and started wondering about how babies in other countries and regions eat like in china or russia or tahiti etc. especially tahiti because they are so healthy and stay so young looking and china too. i mean being in america with the highest rate of obesity and whatnot maybe we should pick up some tips from others and start in ourselves and our children.

Everytime I went to my white friend's house when we were kids they were always disrespectful to their parents and would call them names like "bitc*" and "wank3r" all the time. What brought this all back was a documentary I saw last night where these kids were cussing at their parents and slamming doors in their faces...why?

I grew up in Illinois and everything seemed normal until after 9/11 happened, and I started going to school in Chicago. A few years after I realize I can't stand it here. I'm sick and tired of these backwoods type people and how "normal" their immoral and messed up cultural beliefs are to them. Don't get me wrong there are a lot of nice people here, but often they seem washed out by the general culture. I went to Manhattan once and it was nothing like Chicago. People generally only cared about themselves and their business, they didn't need to affirm themselves by being judgemental or rude to strangers, and weren't anywhere near as typically ignorant and racist as the people in Chicago (and don't try and tell me people in Chicago aren't like this). I'm truly sick of the narrow-minded and morally degenerate people here and their backwoods mentality and want to try something else. Anyone else have the same experience? Do you recommend other cities or areas of the U.S.? Thanks.

Just curious about the living conditions in Pakistan compared to North America. Why do they leave and come here, or conversely, why would someone from North America leave and go live there?
