but most...no...just about every goth....is very creative. They have their own mind set. They spend most of their time creating. Whether it be writing, drawing, or photography.
It's actually believed that Edgar Allen Poe was a goth. Look at his writing.
Same with Shakespeare...but if he was..it would be Romanti-Goth.

Well, it has many meanings, so that's not a very fair question. It can be a group (either contemporary or historical), a style (of art, architecture, or literature), or a lifestyle (either superficial or deeply entrenched).
For me it is this: Being goth has nothing to do with what clothes you wear or music you listen to, it is a way of thinking and seeing the world. The clothes that goths wear and the music that goths listen to is just a reflection of that mindset. Goths see that there is extreme pain and evil in the world, along with the good. Instead of condemning it or ignoring it, goths accept these things as a part of life and try and enjoy the good along with the bad, since they can't stop the bad from happening. They are not obsessed with death, they just accept it as an inevitability. They do not try and cause more pain in their (or anybody else's) lives, since there is plenty to start with. Goths tend to be kind, intelligent, non-violent, emotional, and artistic.

I do. I had two friends who were goth. One was actually from Russia so that was interesting. I found out that I'm a goth too when in high school I was just considered a pessimistic person by teachers, depressed by a guidance councilor,depressed by parents. Some people are just so stupid. All well I graduated long ago from that hell hole so I no longer have to feel trapped.
