A jewel box of obsidian holds God's brightest star of light,
But on this Earth, all hope for her to shine on me is gone.
In time that I might see such light in lives on worlds beyond,
A million suns would flare to life, then fade to endless night.


There IS a reference to her skin color there. I don't think I could ever say it in a better way: it's beautiful, yet explicitly external and secondary -- it holds a bright star, which is her soul.

I know SHE won't be angry, because she grew up in Africa and she doesn't have all the cultural baggage we have on THIS continent.
Just wondered how the rest of you would feel.


(Please don't think the "star" part is racist -- if you took it that way, then do realize that it would have to be an Asian supremacist poem, because our sun happens to be yellowish and not totally white. And please don't lecture me on how obsidian is "too" dark: you

I love my family, but plain and simple:some of them are racist.

One of my family members has admitted to not liking or trusting my boyfriend, simply because he once dated someone of his race, and that girl cheated on him.

My boyfriend and I have been together for over a year and he has always behaved with utmost respect around them and has always been good to me.

What can I do to ease this unneccesary tension?

Can we PLEASE get a handle on what we truely stand for?
By that I mean, understand that you are worth more than the gold in your mouth, money in your pocket, and phone #s in your memory. We are strong, creative, and engineered to strategically level the playing field (business-wise) all over the world. If we can't get beyond our fantasies of holding poorly used titles (Pimp, Player, Baller) then we are drastically limiting ourselves.
Let's stop blaming Caucasians. Their ancestors may have enslaved ours, but that was in the past. We have come a long way from that. Take the benefits (MLK, voting rights, educations, spiritual strength) and continue to press forward. You will never get anywhere with a vengeful mind. If you honestly think the world is to blame you have no purpose in life. If you are against others, then you have no love.
Use your brains for more than sex and money. Our younglings need role-models with good morals. If you can't do so, relocate to a cave.

Can todays gang violence be traced back to thatcher?

ie it was Maggie thatcher who broke up the socialisti society , broke up communiies ie unions, hippies, peaceful youth cultures, who pushed for busienss values of ruthless capitalisim, greed is good,


Competition breaking up public services and forcing them to fight and compete to put each other out of business and unemployed.


Took away avanues out of poverty via uni studenthood by taking away grants.



Pushing for less community life and more work hard no time for kids culture.

Are not gangs and crack dealing gang culutre capitalisim in its pure form with Blair simply continuing her polices?


This goes back to the 80s and shortly after showing that these gang kids have only known such policies.

Why is it whenever a Black women wears her hair natural everyone tells he rit's wrong and ugly and when a man does it it's accepted? I just turned natural a couple of months ago, and I cut of my waist lenght hair that was relaxed and straight. I used to go out wiht many men who were attracted to me because I had "good" hair. So I decided to cut my relaxer of and grow a natural afro to see if they loved me without my "good" hair. When I turned natrual, all hte guy suddenly didn't want ti talk to me and they were saying stuff like "what happende to you hair?", "you look like a african" or "You need a relaxer."
