English - never British, cos anyone can consider themselves british, even amazingly ethnic people who cant speak a word of english. I hate the word British to be honest

Great question!
I think generally I say I'm from the UK - and then if they ask where exactly, I'll clarify and say England or, more often, London.
I don't think the United Kingdom will be united much longer, however - all over the world, it seems that unions are devolving and that smaller pockets of like-minded individuals are springing up - division rather than union. This seems like a recipe for intolerance and the return of a new form of tribalism - but what do I know?! I'm powerless to stop it, whatever happens...
