I suspect that there are many advantages to separate education for boys and girls. Given the hormonal explosion going on in both sexes, it's difficult enough for adolescents to concentrate on their studies without the presence of the opposite sex to distract them.
Another advantage would the the reduction of class sizes. I have long been of the opinion that the huge "mega-schools" are a mistake. The economies of scale do not work well when applied to education.

I grew up in co-ed schools and am going to a girl's college now. I'm trying to figure that out. I'll get back to you, in terms of educational benefits, in a few years.
But I can say this, I'd probably have more friends in a co-ed school. I just don't relate to normal girls very well. I'm missing guy friends that I would probably have in a co-ed school.

Mixed schools are much better and safe. Children develop their attraction to the opposite sex at and early age and being deprived of the contact with the opposite sex often many times forces their instinctual drives to focus upon members of the the same sex affecting their life long sexual desires.

education/knowledge is not biased, it needs to be learned from everybody. science shouldnt be reserved for one group and art another. a tru educated man or woman knows the balance of everything!

Social interactions need to be learned, and since male and female are equal, then there's no reason to seperate them.
