I grew up in the heart of "Dixie" and racial tension, South Carolina. I've been called a lot of things that made me have disdain for white people when I was younger, because I didn't understand the hatred, because I always associated with everyone. My best friend was white (R.I.P. Scott Riley) and he was my brother. I enlisted in the military and I noticed that their was a racist culture brewing within the service, that really made me angry, because I'm not fighting for blacks, I'm fighting for everybody, and I can't even get treated the same here? Not all the white people I've encountered have been this way, but It just doesn't seem like there are enough people out there who just see the quality of the individual and not the color of their skin. All this arguing back and forth between races just makes me sick to my stomach. It's pointless, we're all brothers. Is there any colorblind people out there that feel how I feel?

First and foremost, I'm not racist in the slightest bit I had a boyfriend who was African American and my best friend growing up was full Mexican. I think racism is cruel and uncalled for but there are some facts regarding races that are not right.
There are not just racism in this country against those of other colors. There is pleny of racism going on every day towards white people. The reason we don't see it as often as racism towards Blacks, Mexicans, etc is because we choose not to see it. People believe that races besides whites have it the worst in America, and while that may be true, there are plenty of racist things going on every day that are guided towards whites. On the LA news the other day they showed these 4 white girls in LA that got attacked by a group of Mexicans for no reason, and they were called names such as gringa's etc.. Now is that racism or not?

I see people take joy in seeing former rapist get raped themselves in jail. I see people cheering when a serial killer who has butchered 10 people beat up and rape a rapist. Why do people think these people are nothing?

Why, although the creation and bias of race began around the same time and for the same reasons, is there less of a known/seen/admitted racism against Natives than any other group in todays societies particular African Americans for the reasoning of those being the first other American groups discriminated against unjustly.

How does one cope with family/ex friends who labeled me as being something I am not.(me being the black sheep among perfect other family members) leading me to be shunned by family & supposed friends..when all I did was divorce my husband?? Although I've come to grips with the situation, it stil bothers me. Is it to boost their society standing?? Or are they just cruel? I've tried to get on with my life without my family but it is still very hurful. Some insight would be very helpful. Thanks

You can talk about blacks, whites, mexicans, arabs, etc all you want and its not going to make a MAJORITY of us change our thoughts about anyone. Dont you realize it only makes you look like a punk (sherri p and swede reigns) Its so useless!!! It takes more energy to hate than it does to love. That's all! (for those who are going to post negative comments.......i dont care, it wont be read AT ALL. Just given an immediate thumbs down and minimize to nothing!!!!!!!!

Somebody reported someone else for asking this question...should they be reported?

Question:
Why are Blacks so rude, insensitive and harsh?
Not to mention, criminal. The USA would be better without them.

In our culture Man and Woman have been considered as Two separate poles of attraction. A father will not touch or hug his daughter after she is grown up.

Woman were in safe paradise in history long back, but Men have taken for granted on the freedom of woman in due course, and hence Woman have come out in search of freedom by way of education and Job. Here the good cultural barriers have been broken and both men and women have become independent of each other monetarily and hence that give and take policy is gone.
Both sexes are facing lot of stress and losing all their happiness, which once existed long back in history.

It is nature for a man and women to get attracted to each other in every aspect when they have space and time to interact crossing all boundaries of friendship and brothery, sisterly relations.

I believe western cultures have partly invaded our system

Now how can an Indian couple regain their lost happiness without geopardizing each others freedom?

I have a friend (who is black) who suggested today that all black people have white in them because of white masters raping slaves, blah blah blah. That is why some of us are "blue black" while others are just brown, while still others are almost white.

But isn't reasonable to think that black people came in many shades BEFORE slavery. I think may friend is a little brainwashed if he think MOST black people have white in them. sure some do, but not most.

And what about native american's? do MOST black people have white in them.

My sweet fiance has been painstakingly trying to teach me to whistle. I know it sounds silly but I have wanted to whistle since I was little girl. We have tried everything. I make the smallest, roundest hole possible with my lips, blow out air softly, and keep my tongue at the back of my mouth resting against my top teeth, per his instructions.

Does anyone have any other suggestions? Has anyone ever taught themselves to whistle or know anyone who simply cannot?

2.20.07: here is a newspaper story about one of the close neighbors of the 7,000 people bush has decided to let breeze into our country:

(Chicago, IL) -- Bond is denied for a Rogers Park man who allegedly beat his wife, mother-in-law and sister-in-law to death with a sledgehammer over the weekend. DE, (name removed) a recent immigrant from Iran, faces first-degree murder charges in connection with the killings. Chicago Police Commander TB says they're working with translators to find a motive. There are reports that E left a videotaped apology on the phone. He also reportedly says he felt "disrespected" by his female relatives. When police responded to the scene Sunday morning, they allegedly found E hitting himself in the head with the murder weapon, in an attempt to kill himself. He was taken to a nearby hospital.

is their violence genetic? what made them riot as they seized our embassy employees as hostages due to khomeni? should we welcome 7,000 iraqi muslims in?

Everybody has something that they're inherently biased against. We all do. For some people it's a race or a religous group. What's your bias? just wondering.
