I do Native American dancing (Fancy Shawl to be more exact) I am desperately looking for someone to sew me a new regalia. (What we wear when we dance) I need it to be done before Sept/Oct. Any suggestions?

Let me rephrase this. I have been dancing for almost a year now and I know how to make them I just can't sew. I need someone who has the ability to sew and actually make it look good....Trust me mine wouldn't look so good if I tried. lol

Get involved in your local Native community. Someone should be able to direct you on how to make a shawl. I just made one myself and it was fairly simple (and I don't even sew). If you have a local college/university then they usually have a Native organization/student union/club.

Just curious, does your cousin live in South Dakota? Any where near Rapid City? RC is one of the most racist against N/A towns I've ever been through. I'm with the other poster who said the parents should be going down reaming the principal. There is no way this is a "suspendable" offense. Although if the parents are N/A in a racist area odds are they won't have much luck. Give your cousin a high five from everyone who believes that history should be re-examined from other perspectives.

Go to your local pow-wow and ask around. Someone there will be able to get answers for you. Or call your local Indian tribe (at their casino?) and ask there.
