In our culture Man and Woman have been considered as Two separate poles of attraction. A father will not touch or hug his daughter after she is grown up.

Woman were in safe paradise in history long back, but Men have taken for granted on the freedom of woman in due course, and hence Woman have come out in search of freedom by way of education and Job. Here the good cultural barriers have been broken and both men and women have become independent of each other monetarily and hence that give and take policy is gone.
Both sexes are facing lot of stress and losing all their happiness, which once existed long back in history.

It is nature for a man and women to get attracted to each other in every aspect when they have space and time to interact crossing all boundaries of friendship and brothery, sisterly relations.

I believe western cultures have partly invaded our system

Now how can an Indian couple regain their lost happiness without geopardizing each others freedom?

Independence is bad? Give and take is gone? People are unhappy? Where are you getting this?

*sigh*

The problem and unhappiness stems from a struggle for power in a relationship. If men and women have a mutual understanding of being *GASP!* equal partners, then independence and the breaking of barriers is a fine thing that leads to prosperity, fulfillment, and satisfaction all around.

The problem comes when one partner thinks themselves superior to the other and expects to be treated as such... and the other doesn't agree. The the relationship dissolves into a power struggle instead of a harmonious function.

The expectations you bring into relationships have greater chance of ruining them than any cultural influence.

I understand your point; however just because things have changed, you cannot assume they have so for the worse, just because you are experiencing some troubles. Do you honestly think that your ancestors lived a life free of stress before the great "western culture" invasion. In my true opinion, you cannot simply blame western culture; all people (male and female) deserve the same respect and opportunities in life. The fact that women are more highly educated—thus obtaining higher positions in the workforce than ever-before, will only benefit humanity.

As far as your situation, my advice would be to look back to the beginning of the relationship and remind yourselves of why you initially fell in love. Good luck, I truly hope it works out for you.

You have mixed up everything dear. Our culture is fine and safeguard the sanctity and dignity of man and worman relationship and protects their happyness without depriving their freedom. The "FAMILY" consists of Father, Mother, Brother and sisters. No one needs to train regarding Father's Love, Mother's love. Brother's love and Sister's love. Nature has given all of us a heart full of love for each other. Human beings are considered superior because they unlike animals have sense of giving love affection to each other and protecting the decency and dignity of the relationship that decipline and purity of thoughts and sense of responsibility to each other that becomes the base of a respectable and peacefull life. If we ignore the values of such a country's way of life which we call culture the very system of the Life gets imbalance and life will lose its beauty. That is the strength of this country and even other countrymen have realised the values of spirituality for a peaceful World .

Men have taken their freedom for granted and women have taken their dignity for granted. We must realise that both freedom and dignity are hard earned. man and woman are two different aspects of the society taht co-operate and contribute in progress of the society. If both of them respect each other equally and stop nagging about their contributions the whole world would become a better place to live...

I don't disapprove the relationship as such but it would be a folly to deny the degeneracy of character found quite easily in such a relationship. The .solutions are infact two.
Firstly, Strict restriction which somehow the other is bound to fail the other is a conscientious analysis of all our past actions directed towards instant satisfaction. I believe if this is done in the right way by the people involved in such a relationship they themselves would realise what their innate lust has got to offer to them.

By the knowledge of four words viz. 'Vishw',' Paramaatmaa', 'Parivaar', 'Dharm', we can overcome this and any problem. This is based on 'Ardh Nar Naari Nateshwar' philosophy of "Shankar" or "Lord Shiva" for both man & woman.

'Prafull' Paramaatmaa Das,
"Vishw Paramaatmaa Parivaar".
