What effect would this poster have had on people of different ages and backgrounds in the 40's? For example, how would a teenager react to it? A veteran of World War I? A mother? A doctor? A minister?

That was my mother's day... and I can tell you a little about HER reaction to it. A female teenager might think that that would soon be HER spot in life.. while a male teen might be thinking it would soon be his time in the service and be fearful or anxious. A veteran might see it with anger or unease, as men had done the lions share of work outside the home until the war took them away and women HAD to go to work secularly. A mother might look at it with pride, knowing that she and others like her kept this country going during a time of hardship. As to the doctor and the minister, I couldn't help you there!
