What do American Indians think about Old White Ladies getting their property taken by GOVERNMENT, to ...?

...build another Mall? Do they have it coming?

I am a Native woman.

Although I do think that Native people have certain rights to this land and that the government should uphold Native land treaties I would not think that it is appropriate to take away an elder's property. It is common belief in Native communities to respect our elder's and to make sure they are taken care of (whatever race). Also, why would building a mall be more appropriate than providing a home to an older woman?

Why do they have it coming??? Did THESE old white ladies take away Indian land?? The Indians fought a war with the europeans and lost. End of story.
If this is wrong to you and think that land should be returned, then how far back in History do we go as aworld body and do this???
Do we go back to the old Soviet Union era? Axis conquests? English, frech, Spainish, Dutch, Portegese eras? How about right before or right at the beginning of the Roman empire? Greek? Egyptions? Where do we stop?? We are just a moment in history, in a thousand years we will just be history as the Romans are now.
Why don't you show your pride and greatness by assimulating into this country like every one else and becoming all you can be?

Half my family is Native American, and the other half is Caucasian. My great grandmother (as you put it, an "old white lady") didn't get her farm took, but after she died it did get divided.....the government did take some, but not all of it. My other grandparents and family tried to help. This really is a stupid question....these "old white ladies" didn't take anybodies land...why would they deserve it?
