Just a general observation I've made, living in Canada, the majority of people I encounter dislike America & its citizens. I find they're behavior perplexing. On one hand they "trash talk" American culture & society, but on the other they wear clothes from U.S. institutions, listen to our music & watch our films, & they shop at Wal-Mart! Is there a logical explanation to this, & am I the only one who notices it?

On a recent show Oprah Winfrey had a panel of working and stay-at-home moms and said the friction between these 2 groups seems to be the implication that working Moms are made to feel that they love their children less (those that choose to work, not the very few w/ no choice other than daycare).

Oprah concluded both Moms love their children the same, but I actually think that since love is displayed by ACTION, dropping your baby off with strangers every day because Mom feels better as a working woman, versus the ACTION of sacrificing the money, status, comfort, etc of working to care for your baby all day does actually mean that the mother that stays home loves her baby more, is more selfless and shows love through action rather than mere words (and a few rushed minutes in the morning and a few tired hours at the end of the day...)

Is this an off-base opinion?

PS: I left a high-powered career 1 yr ago to stay home with my baby; HARDEST job ever but best decision of my life.

I have relatives from France, but they all had blonde hair and blue eyes, which are a trait in a lot of Italian people? I would rather be Italian than French.

People are beginning to call racism against white people "reverse racism." Personally I think this is politicall y incorrect. Racism is racism no matter who it is against. What are your thoughts?

The discovery of DNA was made by two Englishmen, Watson and Crick. The transistor was invented by Americans, and all computers are descended from it. Albert Einstein and Jonas Salk were Jewish. But what significant advances have been made by minds addled with fundamentalism? *Waits, tapping fingers on desk*.

When will the world be secure enough in itself where there are no matters involved with "first black president" or "first black NFL head coach to win a super bowl" and such??? Who cares?! A person is a person, they are where they are because of who they are, not what they are.... When will we all realize that?

I am in the States and want to order Valentine flowers for my b/f who is in England. If I was sending them to his home I would have no problem with putting his address into the form but I want to send them to his workplace so I am a little confused since the addy is longer then any American addy. If anyone is willing to take a little time and e-mail me at mc1202s@yahoo I would be more then happy to e-mail you the address and a copy of the form so you can show me what goes where.....and eternally greatfull too!!! Thanx!

Did they used to like her more earlier? She came under some flack for not liking hip-hop music so much. They now accuse her of catering to the 'middle-class white woman'. Do most black people really think this is true?

Not trying to inflame or start a race issue.. just pretty curious about this since reading about it in the news etc..
