Is it true that in the show they got through loads of Skippys everytime they made a new episode I seem to remember Mel Gibson saying as much in an interveiw. I could be wrong about Mel Gibson even being in it.

At least three female eastern grey kangaroos were used to make Skippy from 1966 to 1968. This is quite normal in making programs or films about animals. Mel Gibson was not in the show.
