If they become American citizens, then yes they technically should have that title. This is why political correctness is retarded. Black people do not refer to themselves as "African-american", it was created by whites to not offend blacks. If thats the case, start calling me European-American, then.

People of African descent live all over the world. With this in mind, it would be difficult to classify this situation. In the case of Shiloh, since Pitt and Jolie are both Americans, it might be accurate to say that Shiloh is an African-American. However, this isn't a typical example, because few people have movie stars as parents.

If they were born in an African country, and then emigrated to (or were brought to by their parents) the US of A, and eventually became a legal citizen here through naturalization for example, then yes they're perfectly right to call themselves an African-American. What else are they going to call themselves? They may be Caucasian African-American, but if you think such a thing doesn't exist, think about it again. It shows the long deeply-engrained social conditioning of the "race issue" here (primarily the "black" / "white" issue) when people here are so conditioned to instantly think , whenever they hear the word "African" , "black" . In Europe you can hear that someone is an African, by birth, and everyone does not automatically assume that the person has to be "black". It's primarily an American social construct, this whole "black & white" thing which we have going on here.

I have a cousin who is a missionary in South Africa. Him and his Wife are both white and they have 5 kids. All five of their kids were born and still live in Africa, but they have duel citizenship. So yes they are African American. In general that term is massively over-used. Many "African Americans" have never even been to Africa, or their parents or their grand parents. These people are simply Americans. My ancestors are from Ireland but no one calls me Irish American.

Afiican-American is the present polite label we use to confer with people who use to be referred to as, colored, then N e g r o, then black and a sort of insulting words. as quickly as we positioned human beings into bins the individuals from North Africa are referred to as Arabs, and White definitely everyone seems to be called Europeans. once you're specifying the place American citizen have been born, you utilize the call of the rustic of foundation, no longer the Continent. as an occasion we are saying Irish American or German American no longer ecu American and the only white human beings i comprehend that have been born in Africa call them selves South Africans,

Not all white people are American. As for Shiloh, Her parents are American so when she turns 18 she will have to make a choice if she wants American citizenship or African.

African-American is a broad term given to black people in America because most blacks have no idea where their ancestors came from. Slavery is to blame for this because most slaveowners did not keep ancestral records of their slaves.
I have friends at work who were born in Sudan, Ethiopia, and Egypt and they do not call themselves African-American. They call themselves Sudanese-American, Ethiopian-American, and my friend from Egypt just calls herself an American. Look up the nation that Shiloh Jolie was born in and she will be called the national term for those people plus American.

What in the world are you kids doing in school these days, because you surely aren't learning anything. Not all white people are american and not all black people are african. Sounds like you are just a little too dumb to comprehend an answer so I'll just leave this one alone. You are already going to have so much to deal with in your life as it is. You poor, sad thing. Education is the key to your future.
