Gregor Mendel - he discovered that traits of inheritance are governed by predictable laws. This lead to the discovery of DNA and the science of genetics.

He was a monk at the Augustinian Abbey of St. Thomas in Brno in Germany when he did this research.

I don't know if you would call him a fundamentalist exactly because a fundamentalist in my opinion actively avoids anything that might contradict scripture. However, he was a monk and that means he was pretty serious about religion.

None at all. They aren't interested in science. However, true christians have many many good discoveries.
