I always hear jokes about the French, Irish, British..etc. Why do you make fun of your own heritage?

Dude, we stepped down from that. I think it started because you guys are always making fun of us over here. You call us arrogant and war mongers, but that's our government, not us. Don't think the media is showing you everything. I'm French, but I make fun of the French government, not the French people. I am also Irish-American. I make Irish drinking jokes because it's humorous. It's not really to make fun of the people personally. It's just all fun.
