Many parts of the world are having heat waves. We were over 40 C here yesterday. Roughly that would be close to 110F and its supposed to get hotter today, maybe 44C ? We have hit 120F in the past with it going down to 110F at night . (farenheit for American members)

How are y'all holding up in this nasty heat? And what coping methods are you using? Other than Central AC ? Drinking a lot of water.

My friends landlord lied about having central AC - he plunked an itty bitty little AC unit in the window last month that barely cools the LR/DR area.

I am not getting a lot of sleep and have 2 fans blowing on me all night, wake up at 7 AM with the sun beating on the bedroom windows and already sweating -- :-( top floor apt

I just have this CRAVING, MAD INSANE URGE to throw my body into deep cold water and stay there until fall but there are no beaches close by. No swimming pool I care to use. (ick)

So many people are limited in mobility - how are you making out?

Would like to know if anyone has every set up loaner program of Ham radio equipment. For Hams in Nursing homes or living at home. Would be nice to see if we had a system set up to keep track of Hams we don't hear on the air. And to assist them to get back on the air. Or to help re locate their station and antennas if needed from let's say the basement to up stairs living area.

I'm 16 and a female. Alright, so I've recently come out of the closet to few friends and my parents. I also play soccer and the basically put soccer before relationships, I've recently broken up with a girlfriend b/c one of my teammates came close to finding out.(I know it was a horrible thing to do and I still haven't forgiven myself for it even though she has). I don't exactly know what I want to ask. I guess I just need some advice on how to, I don't know work with my teammates or something. Two or three of them know and are okay with it, but the rest of them wouldn't be so cool about it. I just don't think I'd be able to handle it if I was kicked off the team for being a lesbian. If you have anything that may be to some use, please let me know. Just don't give any crap about breaking up with that girl I know it was wrong.

My friend told me she likes girls in now i feel so uncomfotable on the phone with her in stuff. I am a white woman, and have only ever had one white boyfriend when I was 17, and then I went black (and of course, never went back)

I could NEVER fancy a white man again, but I don't understand why....I especially like Jamaicans. I think it's because most black men know how to be a real man....that's what I like, but it still confuses me.

Many people believe that being gay is a sin. Many people believe that being gay is a choice. I disagree. I did not choose to be gay and when I was younger I prayed and prayed and done all in my power to try and become straight but it didn't happen. I'm still gay and I chose to be straight and it didn't happen so, therefore, my conclusion is that it isn't a choice. It's how God meant for you to be so why would that be a sin? Gay people deserve their rights. It isn't like we are going around telling straight people that they better turn gay or they will go to Hell. If I asked a straight person right now to change their ways and love a person of the same sex they would be like "I can't because I love the opposite sex. It's just what attracts me." Well that is how the same sex is to gay people they are only attracted to the same sex they can't help it. It is just how they are. Please give me your thoughts. Thanks.

I come across these questions about are Filipinos considered Asian, Pacific ISlander, or Hispanic? My theory is that most Older Filipinos, F.O.B's. or Filipinos from the PHilippines consider themselves asian cus they are amongst the Chinese, Korean, etc in the Philppines or if they live here in the Los Angeles now they just gravitate toward them. However us Fil-Ams gravitate toward Pacific Islanders or Hispanics because we do not feel a connection with Chinese, Korean, etc. We dont feel we look like them, talk like them, act like them, nothing. Filipinos live in places in Los Angeles where they share it with Pacific Islanders like Gardena, Carson, LB, also Filipinos live in places where they share it with Mexicans, Highland Park, La Mirada, Norwalk, Eagle Rock. So, I will keep it real and say MOST, I said MOST, Filipinos in Los Angeles would get insulted if you look at us like Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, etc cus we arent. Why cant we just be who we are FILIPINO, not PI or asian!

It's because of the Chavs who HAVE to use it.....
they don't care that their behaviour, language and ill manners offends most normal people and therefore the normal people won't use buses and trams because they don't want to feel intimidated.
Do you think that if the public transport companies tackled this problem then more normal people would be willing to use their services?

I am leaving for a weekend with a girl who I am going to have my first bi experience with. She is into the whole BDSM thing and am told I will be expected to learn to be her slave. We're attending a costume party tonight and tomorrow one of her cousin's wedding. She has told me for the wedding she has picked a thin pink doggie collar for me to wear. I am told this a strict condition that I must comply to. I've seen the collar and it has a nametag on it reading Candy. I am told I will be introduced by that name. I am torn because it sounds so exciting but on the same note very scary. Any other girls out there ever experience anything like this? I really could use some advice.

i tell them that iam sorry for being such a di(k head to them for the past 2 years.i never went to their wedding and quit talking to my sister altogether when i found out that she was gay.i ran into my sister and her wife at the calgery stampede and we had a long talk and they told me that it pretty tough being gay at times and the way that i acted towards them hurt them.

our society has moved forward since the old and new testaments were written, we dont beat or stone our women anymore, we dont have slaves, we dont kill lambs on an alter for god, we have given equal rights to women, women can now be ministers not allowed back then,, we have changed from what was in the past,,we have moved forward, so why not the attitude about the gays, most are decent honest hard working people,
