I totally agree with you .I had to stop driving recently due to a progressive illness, and now use buses quite a lot ,and am astounded and disgusted by the behaviour of some of the other passengers who are pig ignorant, totally inconsiderate and downright offensive. They manage to turn what should be a reasonably pleasant experience into a feat of endurance. I really do think it's a major problem that needs to be sorted out. By the way, in case you think I sound like an old fuddy-duddy, I'm actually quite young and the people I'm talking about are of my generation, which just adds to my embarrasment, and although I'm ashamed to have to admit it the best behaviour I have witnessed from groups of youngsters on buses in south-east Kent where I live, has been from parties of visiting foreign school children. A lesson to be learnt perhaps ?

The chavs have definitely decided that they can run riot on buses. It's really scary, especially for old codgers like me with a heart problem and high blood pressure.
I can tell you for a fact that 30 plus years ago when there were bus conductors and people in general were more community-minded, there was very little trouble on buses.
Loutish parents are now bringing up loutish children.
It has nothing to do with discipline, just lack of brotherly love.
Unfortunately, the consumer society and the 'greed is good' mentality has created an uneducated underclass who only know how to grab a piece of the pie..just as their betters are doing.
incidentally, try a ride on a London bus on a blazing hot summer's day..heating probably on, lack of windows, heat radiating from the hot roof...temperatures of 40 deg plus...what idiot at County Hall ordered these buses from that climate hot-spot Sweden?

Absolutely.I had a horrible experience on a train a couple of weeks ago.I had been to a test match at Durham and when the train stopped at York on the way back a crowd of young men who had been on a stag night weekend got on the train. Most of them were very drunk and apart from the appalling language as the journey progressed it became clear that a confrontation was imminent.Luckily two members of the group had the sense to step in and keep two of them apart.if they hadn't I shudder to think what would have happened as the train was packed and they were all standing in the aisle and I was in the aisle seat.As it was such a confined space I could have been injured.I feel particularly aggrieved because being environmentally conscious I use public transport for most of my journeys but if this lawless trend continues I will no longer be able to do that.

I would rather some Chavs used public transport rather than speeding on the road, cutting people up etc. The problem with public transport for me is it's inconvenient if you've got a lot of shopping for example.

I caught a bus this morning and excluding oaps there was me and the dregs of society. You are damn right! And yes btw, i think if they did it would be better. And the way they turn on there music on their phones without headphones, do they just do it to look hard because newsflash, tucking your socks into tracky bottoms, wearing more jewlery than my nan and walking around thinking you own the place is neither hard or cool.

I actually think its too expensive as well.
And the other day there was a drunk man who smelt like a skunk who we had to endure sitting opposite, when we visited my nephew in hospital..
They're slow, dirty, unreliable and expensive..
Buses as well as the drunks..
