...necessary for you to be butch/effeminate? Is there a drive within you to take on such 'behavior'? If so, aren't you then transexuals and not homosexuals?

Or do you do it because you think you will attract those who are in the opposite spectrum, behavior-wise (or even someone straight)? Meaning, butch lesbians want the womanly woman and effeminate gays want the manly man.

ok so i am 26yrs old have lived in the area for about 3 years - havent done anything but work to prevent myself from returning to the same enviornment i came from - problem is where do i go at 26 to make friends? i have one female in my life right now, my ex boyfriends friends girlfriends ( yeah i know ) are ok but i want and need friends outside of that circle - any ideas - i am in a rural area and all the hangouts are teens - im recently seperated so i think i need to get out and enjoy myself - i know i dont need friends - and i can enjoy time by myself - but i also enjoy time out with the ladies occasionaly, i have a lot of male friends but again i dont want to be around every one elses friends - this sounds pitiful i know- where i moved from i have friends - but here i dont so any suggestions would be appreciated -

Ok, first off, I know I'll get comments from bashers, but at this point I could care less what you all have to say or what you think.

I told my mom today over lunch that I'm gay. At first she didn't say anything and just kept staring at me, so I started freaking out, because I could see it turning bad real quick. So I asked, "what are you thinking" and she said "I love you no matter what, you know that" and gave me a hug. Then we just talked about it for about 10 minutes or so and the only thing I feel bad about was her crying because she wanted grandchildren (really bad). I'm glad I finally worked up the courage to tell her and she wants me to tell dad (I'd rather not), but I kind of feel bad about the grandchildren thing. She did make a joke that she'd have to get on my brother to step up to the plate and make some babies...but I don't think it's sitting with her too well, at least not right now.

Any advice? Or do you all think it will work itself out?

ok...a while back i told my mom that i'm bi...she just looked at me..evil kind a look..and said "why do you think you are bi?" lol..wow what a hard answer to answer to your parents.. so i explained to her about my gf and how i was attracted to girls and i like girls basicaly...well she said , "just cuz you mess around with girls and have gfs u r bi??" ... ok by this time i'm lost... uh...yeah!!! lol...so my bro the other day likes to call me bisexual (as if it bothers me) and my mom said she would dis own me and all this crap if i was... do u think she is in denial?? Does she hate me?? what should i do??
so...i am bi...right? lol
i know i seem stupid but please answer and be kind... :)

there have been several suggestions to initiate User Moderators to help police this catagory, as well as others rife with Repeat Abusers, Clones, Bots and ROMA's.

What other suggestions might anyone have?

I was wondering do you see bi people as greedy people, they seem to get the best of both. Don't you think they should be made to choose one or the other. I just don't think its fair they get the best of both.

In the past week I have posted four questions about the state the LGBT Answers category has become. In each of these I have asked about different possible ways it might be possible for Yahoo to clean up the problem of the proflieration of inappropiate and obvious gay bashing. None of these has been repetitive and has been asked intelligently and politely.

All but one of these questions has been deleted. Further I have not even received a violation notice explaining the excuse they are using for deleting me and deducting 10 points to penalize me for my inappropriate behavior.

I find this particularly strange since I was violated and deleted once for commenting "I know gay bashers are idiots but..." I did receive a violation notice that time that I "was being disparaging of members of the Yahoo Community." so I now know I can not say that bigots are intelligence-impaired.

Do you think I should quit being a crybaby and not care and quit even trying to use this category?

OK, here's the deal...
I have problems with my father.
I am gay and I haven't told him yet. I am studying and working abroad, and I have been in a relationship for a year and obviously I dont need money since everything is shared and thus cheaper.
He is always asking my mom how come I don't ask for money, and he wants to visit me (he says that he misses me, but it is obvious that he wants to do his own search on things...if he wanted to see me that bad he would offer to pay for my ticket to go back home and see the rest of the family). I dont want to tell him I am gay for 2 reasons:
1. He is very homophobic, he would not accept it. I know because once he found a porn cd-rom a friend of mine forgot in my room and it happened to have some gay ads...(it was not gay porn, it was straight porn it came with a magazine, but when my father checked he saw the gay ads) and freaked out. He called my sister yelling at her because he thought she might now, and he created a huge fuss.
