why worry about who he wants to have sex with, or trying to put a label on him. Just care about him, and love him for himself.

In the absence of real information, its hard to tell what your cousin is. Given that sex is a major part of a relationship, it is going to be extremely difficult for him to have a heterosexual relationship if he can't have sex with the woman.

He could be a homosexual leaning bisexual, or even a complete homosexual either in denial - or holding on to the bi label "to keep his options open".

The question is - why can't he see himself having sex with a female? Is he just heterophobic? or does he not feel sexually attracted to females? If he is heterophobic, then he needs to address his fear of women.

The true definition of a bisexual is a person who is sexually and/or romantically attracted to members of either sex (as opposed to one sex). Whilst only being romantically and not sexually attracted to women may give him the option of calling himself bisexual - in actual fact, his hetero side would be of little use if he can't have any sexual activity with women. Okay, sex isn't the whole relationship, but its a major part.

Well, bi people can respond to the different genders differently. I know I act different around women and men--I take more initiative with women, for instance. My Ex-Boy is bi, and thought women were for commitment and men were for one night, and nothing could shake him out of that belief. Sounds like your cousin is sort of that way with women.

Sexual orientation is a spectrum on a continuum of straight to 100% homosexual. Bisexual is right in the middle. The attraction is based on many different things emotional attraction physical attraction how the person makes your body feel. 38 % of the world is 100% straight and only 9 % are 100% homosexual. the rest are bisexual to some degree. 22 % are people who have had some degree of same sex fantasy yet never acted on it. 10% have had fantasies and have acted on it for the same sex but still identify as mostly straight 9 % are in the middle with 50/50 desire and acting on it for either sex. 6 % I think are where your cousin is with some acting out on the desire for the opposite sex but mostly identifies as homosexual. The remaining 7% are mostly homosexual identified men but have had fantasies for the opposite sex.

Some find saying they are Bisexual insted of outright "gay" is
1) More socially acceptable
2) more personally acceptable

Many, not all, gays/lesbians, when first coming out only admit to being bi because they aren't quite ready to fully accept their homosexuality.

I believe that being bi doesn't necessarily means a woman has to have sex with another to really prove that she is bi.

Otherwise, i may be wrong.

Maybe he is still a bit unsure and in question with his sexuality. It sounds like he knows that he likes men but is still questioning his sexuality with women.
