Every day I have to deal with stupid customers getting pissed about nothing, it is so annoying. I hate customer service it really wears down on your self esteem. People can be so mean and rude, I have customers cussing me out all the time. And I work at a craft store for f*** sake! Old people are the worst, they have no patience whatsoever, they yell at you for not carrying certain items, or for not being able to leave your line of customers to go help them find something, and heaven forbid you don't know what something is that they are asking for. My suggestion is NEVER work in retail!

LOL, thats is so true! I work in a call center and if they've had a bad day, they think it's ok to take it out on me because we are over the phone.

When someone calls and yells at me like that, I just act really nice and polite to tick them off some more, then when they hang up, I laugh.

Had a customer make an *** of him self over .14 cents once. I can't imagine acting like that in public over pennies.

Luckily i landed a good job thats NOT in customer service so I dont have to put up with it any more.

In that case, I just give them something to be mad about~ No service, no emotional response, no noise. I just stare at them blankly until they self destruct and start over on the right foot. Try it, and get it on camera, it's great party video.
Customers gone wild!

Been there, seen it,got the T-shirt.You just have to look them in the eye and be polite. I find that diffuses situations. I know it is hard not to take it personally but just imagine he/she is going home to a nagging partner, has a boss who has no idea, and blames everyone else but themselves for their cock ups, where as you can go home to peace and serenity, and stuff the rest of them.

People get stressed out & take it out on people rather than dealing with it in a more appropriate way. Some drink, some beat their wives, etc.

May not be childish to him/her your duty is to be the adult and continue to remain calm and friendly. I know it is tough, but remember maybe there has been some tragidy in his life that day - you never know? Beware it does not happen to you one day

Are you in retail? If so,that's just the way some are. They think they're above you.If they were really better than you, they wouldn't be asking you questions.

don't let it bug you. It probably relates to something else but he took it out on you. If they get abusive just assert your humanity "hey, that kind of language is uncalled for..."
