I have a problem...I can't let the things people say to me go. If someone cusses at me in traffic, I think about it for days! If someone is rude to me at work, I think about all day, and try to replay the scenario in my head and think about all the things I SHOULD have said. It's stupid things that don't even matter like this that keep my fuming for days! I can't let it go and just be like, "ok, that guy was an idiot." I just keep thinking about it and get more and more upset, long after the idiot is gone! Does anyone else have this problem? How do you let it go?

When you donate to charity, does the charity take a cut of that money and then give some of it to the poor or whomever?

I expect a common answer to be that "God is actually a simple thing", which in my opinion is confusing the idea of something being 'simple to understand' or 'simple to believe in and love' with something being simple by nature.

God would by all definitions be complex in nature since anything that has the mental capacity to know everything and the physical power to control everything in the universe is not simple at all.

Anyway, that said, if anyone can answer my question, (especially assuming that God is a complex thing), I'd be delighted to read it.

Do you know that God's grace and forgiveness takes it off of you like it never happened? This is the great Gift that Christ bought for humanity through His death and resurrection.

Why do catholics consider it the "one true religion". They were not the first Christians in the Bible. The romans murdered many of the early Christians, before finally deciding to adopt Christianity albeit with lots of new rituals. I'm not trying to insult. I just can't see the logic in the statement that they were the first Christians when they were murdering early Christians.

We have known each other for 15 years and lived together for 3 of them. We have remained close friends and see each other several times per month. I put alot of effort and thought into gifts and she gave me something that a stranger might give to someone.

I hate cooking, don't have dinner parties and keep away from the kitchen as much as I can...all my friends and family know this, it's just who I am. She gave me an oil and vinegar dispenser.

I normally would never say anything and would just let it go, but this gift has shocked and disappointed me; I feel like I got slapped in the face by a close friend. I don't think that I can pretend that I like it or that I'm not hurt. Was it just that she forgot who I am, was it that she doesn't care or was it a regift? How do I approach this? Help!

By the way, the gift I gave her was thoughtful and appropriate to who she is and I already received a near-tearful 'thank you' phone message.

Any evidence that shows any culture that did not have some form of worship, perhaps?
Any evidence that there is NOT a Creator?

I doubt it, seriously...science MUST deal with physical, measurable, testable data, and when new data is discovered, science MUST change to accommodate it. (Those who cannot accept new evidence must face the fact that they are not intellectually honest...)
However, if anyone has any real scientific evidence for the non-existence of any Creator, I am here, and willing to listen.

Show me!!

I was excommunicated from the Mormon Church at my own request in 1980 and had the document framed. It is still hanging on my home office wall. I find it to be an excellent testament to my ability to accept reason & rationality and reject the supernatural.

Are there others here who have been excommunicated or removed from the rolls of their church and are happy about it?

Alright, I know that you all are immediately going to shout "The truth!"- but honestly, if it is the truth, why even bother? If you die and Atheism is correct, you cease to exist, so your beliefs in life have no meaning, whether they were right or wrong. But if religion is correct and you are an Atheist, you are bound for hell- but if you were religious, you spend eternity in bliss. So in conclusion, Atheism just seems like a lose/lose situation to me.
Thanks ahead of time for your answers.

In a sermon given on March 8, 1863, Brigham Young stated, "Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the AFRICAN RACE? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God, is DEATH ON THE SPOT. This will ALWAYS be so" (Journal of Discourses, 10:110).
