Are movies that never bring up God, "atheist movies"?

Are laws that aren't based on the Divine Command Theory of ethics considered "atheist laws"?

Should all scientific theories that don't mention God be called "atheist theories"?

Since the book of mormon is another testament to Jesus the redeemer, where is the passages that support the trinity doctrine in the book of mormon? My stance is this: The trinity is a man made false doctrine that dates back to Babylonian times. It is very interesting also that the Jews rejected the christ and his message while this tribe of Jews that descended from Jacob have somehow accepted Jesus as the messiah. A group of devout Jews would certainly have left synagogues and temples everywhere in the new world. Where are the ruins of these Jewish temples?600 years before Jesus birth, Nephi and his family get on a boat for the new world with Plates that record the history of his family. Are their other plates in Israel now? Surely the Jews used brass plates to record their history on back then. Surely the nephi family didn't take all the plates that were in Israel did they? I mean I am curious is all. no disrespect intended.

Can you wrap Christmas gifts to make them look beautiful ? Or like me does your athritis make it too hard to do so anymore?
Now when I wrap gifts myself they look like they were wrapped by a three year old.

My dad could wrap gifts without using tape, glue etc, just by folding the paper and tucking it in.

People will eat too much, drink too much, spend too much then complain too much. Lol Suicides increase, depression increases and so does crime. Road rage predominately plagues the mall parking lots. People are not as productive at work and don’t take work as serious. They spend more time shopping online then working.

I know I sound like scrooge, but really, have you ever stopped and wondered?

I asked from a secular point of view - what was the ultimate goal of life that religion hinders.

Many of you mentioned religious people "bothering you" and spoiling your fun or your own personal freedoms being violated etc.

Are you saying the ultimate goal of life is all about the happiness and quality of life of the individual? I'm asking you to take a broader perspective - isn't it true that religion bonds communities together with a common belief and a common morality? (If you fail to see the value of this, think about the value of our young being raised in a stable home & being taught to respect other members of society, not to steal or kill etc.)

Further, isn't it true that in the long run, religions that encourage reproduction and charity and "love your neighbor" and so forth are more valuable to the survival of our species than your individual liberties and freedoms?

So in your mind, what exactly is humanity to strive for that religion hinders?

I’m not seeing one group of relatives for Christmas until Dec. 26th and really don’t want go overboard on gifts for them. I’m thinking since I have to throw out my live Christmas tree anyway it will make a nice gift for them.

They have a live tree themselves and throw a New Years party each year so by giving them my tree, it allows them TWO tress to display at the New Years party. That is a great gift - Not too many folks can say they have two trees.

They also live more of a country/wooded area so they can just toss in the woods once it completely dies.

How creative & nice of a gift is this???? I think it is the tops!!!!

Just worried they may ruin the tinsel & other décor on the tree & I do want that stuff back. Should I just give them the tree without the tinsel & décor?

So the bible literally says not by faith alone, so how can anyone claim to be a bible literalist and claim that salvation is by faith alone?

also go here for other verses in the bible that show faith and works are required. http://www.catholicculture.org/library/view.cfm?recnum=673 meaning this is not just one verse that can be explained away out interpeted away.

I just read that Eid al-Adha commemorates the 'prophet Abraham's' willingness to sacrifice his son, Ismail, on God's command. Is this 'prophet Abraham' the same Abraham recognized by Jews and Christians in the Old Testament?

It is my understanding that many ancient religions had a "virgin birth" story as part of their mythology. Do you think most Christians realize that? Do you think that if they learned that fact, it would make them question their belief in the magical "virgin birth" of Jesus, or would they simply believe that their virgin birth story was true and that all the other virgin birth stories were false?
