simple, to glorify god

I'm wondering why the question was only directed at Christians and Atheists?

Was there no interest in what perspective individuals with other religious convictions had?

What about members of the more sensible, liberal wings of various faiths, who are smart enough to recognize that God created evolution. Evolution is an excellent theory, it would be smart to study evolutionary psychology, which explains a considerable amount about human behavior.

Those with good sense ascribe to neither atheism nor literal creationism. Thinking people usually recognize a transcendant "creator" of some kind put the laws of the universe in motion. This God's motives and purposes are not wholly known. The study of nature, "science" has revealed the operational laws of the universe. Good work.

Asking "why" people think they were individually "created" assumes they even think they were. It invites them to speculate or try to read God's mind, or to give you their personal philsophies or silly tripe about the lack of self control and birth control on the part of their parents.

They're right, that's why they came into existence. It doesn't answer your question though. Maybe such a literal answer is provided to indicate that your "deeper" question either seems silly to them or wasn't clearly enough expressed.

Using the word created turns this into a loaded question.
I have to say that I do not believe we were created. Creation as a term implies a creator, however there is no evidence for a creator, or for the idea that we were "Created"

You are employing a common trick in propaganda and presenting a common logical fallacy. Your question is a tautology in the rhetorical sense.
It is also known as the "begging the question" fallacy.

The Bible does not say anything on the reason why we exist except what is God's Will (to my knowledge).

1 Timothy 5:13 (NKJV)
And besides they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house, and not only idle but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not.

We will be accounted for what we say and do (including actions of the heart). Gossiping is a sin.

James 3:8
But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

Whether we believe in Him or not, He will get all of the glory for His Will.

No purpose. And I object to the question to the extent it implies that I, or anybody else, was "created" by some higher being. All a big fairytale. I was created because my parents hooked up. Period.

I think I was created because I'm here. Is this a trick question?

To clarify: I think I was created because that's what happens when a sperm cell fertilizes an egg and the embryo's cells multiply.

I have a purpose in life, given to me by God. Nobody's purpose is exactly the same, which is why we are called the body of Christ. Everyone's purpose is different, and we work together.

Laws of physics contradict evolution (namely, the law of conservation of energy).

Human beings have no credible ancestor anywhere in the fossil record with the abstracting ability shown even by our most primitive ancestors.

The ony way to demonstrate long stretches of time is by linear equations. The faith required for such a leap in logic is too great to justify.
