I’m not seeing one group of relatives for Christmas until Dec. 26th and really don’t want go overboard on gifts for them. I’m thinking since I have to throw out my live Christmas tree anyway it will make a nice gift for them.

They have a live tree themselves and throw a New Years party each year so by giving them my tree, it allows them TWO tress to display at the New Years party. That is a great gift - Not too many folks can say they have two trees.

They also live more of a country/wooded area so they can just toss in the woods once it completely dies.

How creative & nice of a gift is this???? I think it is the tops!!!!

Just worried they may ruin the tinsel & other décor on the tree & I do want that stuff back. Should I just give them the tree without the tinsel & décor?

this is how I take your gift...either your to cheap or lazy to throw it away yourself or you think my tree sucks.
Its not really a gift at all....what about gift cards or something, a tree is a cheap and thoughtless gift. Not to mention you want your ornaments back....come on you can come up with something better. If you cant afford the gifts be honest and tell them your pinched this year and you apologize.

Since it's after Christmas, I'm not so sure that giving a Christmas tree is such a great gift. After all, it's not that valuable after the holiday has already passed. Maybe you should call them first and ask them if you'd like to have your tree to display at their party. And if they do want it, you can make arrangements about the decor.

I don't know, I think that maybe you should just buy new tinsel, and take off any bulbs/ornaments that you want to keep. Giving them the tree is a nice gesture, but asking to keep the decor is a little tacky. Just keep what you want ahead of time and use any money that you would have bought them gifts with to buy new tinsel. Merry Christmas!!!

Do they have room to display a second tree? Are you just using them to dispose of your tree?

Give it to them without the decor if you can, this way they can put their own on. Whatever you cannot get off however, will be fine to leave it.

I'd at least take the lights off it, as it is clear you have a dim bulb.
