How do you know that your religion is right and true while every other theistic religion is not?

I'm just curious as to the reasoning behind such firm stances with everyone's respective religions.

Has any atheist been burned at the steak, or head chopped off, or hung from a cross, or quartered, or boiled alive, or crushed by an elephant, or stoned to death, or thrown into a boiling oil, or torned to pieces by a beast for atheism?

Aaargghhh - Huband makes me wanna scream - he's a goo sort reallyand I shouldn't complain too much but christmas stress is fuelling all sorts of problems! It was our daughter's birthday a few weeks ago - who bought the pressies, wrapped the pressies, booked a venue for party, arranged entertainment, made a cake, made all the food - blew up the balloons, filled party bags etc etc etc - ME OF COURSE!! Now it's christmas prep - i've bought all the pressies for everyone - wrapped them all - bought, wrote and sent the cards, put the tree up and the window lights - on top of looking after daughter and working part time! Anyone out there sympathetic? Next time i'm coming back as a man!

Is Deuteronomy even vaguely relevant to Christianity today?

Im reading NKJ version.. now take a look at Deut 23:1 for example... “He who is emasculated by crushing or mutilation shall not enter the assembly of the LORD."

Now .. how's a bloke in a car accident meant to get around that issue?

And what about Deut 23:2.. I mean.. really... A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the LORD.

Leviticus 21:20... or a hunchback or a dwarf, or one who has a defect in his eye or eczema or scabs or crushed testicles....

I mean... you hear about religions being bigoted .... but that's just extreme!

I am graduating tomorrow with 2 Bachelor's degrees. I am extremely excited, as I was a pregnant high school drop out, & now a mother of 5.

Of course, I had help, my husband, kids, & youngest sister were key supporters.

My oldest sister & brother wasn't very helpful. Both of my sister's share an apartment and are very close.

At the graduation party, I plan to recognize my husband, children, youngest sister, and parents (who were honestly mediocre in there support, but you know, I can't leave them out). My brother maybe, toward the end he was encouraging.

But my oldest sister, NO. She gave resentfully gave me a ride to school a couple of times, but after I kissed up to her first.
Never 1 encouraging word, although I always encourage her 2 go 2 school, which she finally did.
I don't want to leave her out, but I don't want to lie. She leaves the room during talks about my graduation. Just last nite, while planning the party, she says "all, all that aint necessary."

what your honest thoughts are about WHY Christians care about you enough to share the Gospel with you. Do you believe we even ARE sincere? If you don't think we are, where do you feel our true motive lies? (I DO hope no one will say money, as I'm not talking about giving money to a church, or even about RELIGIONS, which I'll admit are there to make a buck off the backs of the people). What I'm talking about is having a relationship with the Living God.....

my african american friend is finnaly getting married. (to a white girl). they dont have many friends so they want me to bring as many people as possible. i can bring my grandpa who is a funny guy, but he always curses and uses racial slurs. he doesnt hate those people though. but in his days, that was acceptable. i keep telling him that he cant do those things anymore. :\

is it OK to invite him?
