Back then, they lived under the Law (that means the Mosaic ordinances, such as the ones you listed, but not the 10 Commandments, which are eternal). Because Christ came and paid the penalties for those ordinances, we now live under Grace. Isn't that good news?
Good thing they didn't have cars back then!
When a person suffered from those afflictions back then, it didn't mean he couldn't go to Heaven, it just meant he couldn't come into the church, which was a holy place, and no unholy thing could enter it - it would be defiled. Today, Christ takes away those ordinances that were "contrary to us". Now, people born out of wedlock and who are eunuchs can enter the church. Christ has "cleansed" them.

is Deuteronomy relevant to Christianity today? Certainly! But we are under the new covenant bought with the precious blood of Jesus Christ.
The scriptures you quoted from Deuteronomy were for god's chosen people - the Jews - under the old covenant.
Read your bible. Read the New Testament. Read what Paul says about the Old Testament!
god bless

If that was literal and I believed christianity when it was handed to me I guess I wouldn't be in the congregation anyways as one of my great-grandfather was illegitmate. Good thing I don't buy into junk like that.
I'd rather be a cast out than a nameless face in the crowd.

That would be my son. His father has never been a part of our life. Why would the fact I was not married to his father cause a fair god to judge him? It makes no sense. Hey come to think of it, I am a bastard too. My parents adopted me and my birth mother was an unmarried 17 year old girl.

I guess the ten commandments they all are arguing over are out too then. I believe this is what is known as cherry picking.

Wow, all I can say is that...
2Co 3:6
who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit;* for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
You make a really good argument for turning to Jesus.

There's a lot of funny contradictions in the bible; they don't want anyone mutilated entering the temple--except for the God-prescribed mutilation of circumcision, of course!
Doesn't make sense to me at all.

That christianity for you. Of course they'll say the old testament doesn't count. But they keep it in there for some reason.
