what your honest thoughts are about WHY Christians care about you enough to share the Gospel with you. Do you believe we even ARE sincere? If you don't think we are, where do you feel our true motive lies? (I DO hope no one will say money, as I'm not talking about giving money to a church, or even about RELIGIONS, which I'll admit are there to make a buck off the backs of the people). What I'm talking about is having a relationship with the Living God.....
Be honest, but nice ;-)

Of course I don't claim to KNOW about everyone's life, Hun, but if you can understand the position of caring about someone just because you KNOW they're there and because you have a heart for people, maybe you'll better understand at least what I mean about myself; (not speaking for all Christians now). I'm truly saddened by the pain and heartache you've endured both from the church people in your life and by your affliction. My sister-in-law had RA, quite severely, and it was painful just to watch her as she went about her day!
I wish you a lifetime of joy and blessings!

I mean no offense at the term "unbelievers" for those of you who mention it specifically in your answers....Here on R&S that just seems to be the broadly used term by both atheists, agnostics, Christians, pagans, wiccans, etc, etc, as I'm sure most of you regulars agree.

I believe that if a Christian thought that unbelievers were going to Hell for not believing, s/he would be a monster if they did not try to spread the Gospel.
It would be like seeing kids playing near a high voltage cable and saying nothing.
The real question is, are you right or deluded?

I think a small portion of Christians want to share the joy they've found in their religion. I think a larger portion want to 'save you from hell" because they fear it themselves and I think a small portion are in for the brownie points of looking like good Christians. The latter is a small bunch but they are sometimes more vocal than the others.
Unfortunately, the "Bible thumpers" are louder and more forceful than those that are truly sincere in wanting to spread joy. They haven't figured out that threatening someone with eternal damnation isn't as productive in this modern age as it was in the Dark Ages when preaching was taught at the point of a sword.

I do believe some Christians are sincere, but not the majority. Most of them seem to only want to insult me.
I have serious problems with Christian doctrine, but I'll refrain from airing them if I can tell the Christian I'm talking to is not trying to be disrespectful

I am a believer and guess what, only God can cause someone to become a Christian. A "Christian" has nothing to do with it. If you only speak what God wants you to speak, you can share what he has done and what the gospel is, defined in 1 Corinthians 15:4&5, but if you will remember, God can cause rocks to praise him and make a donkey prophecy, so he doesn't "need" us. That is why most unbelievers are turned off. Most "Christians" are pushy.

I really don't know since almost all the christians I know respect that I don't wish it so they would never try to force it upon me. Perhaps for the ones that do like to do that, it makes them feel better about themselves in some way.

Some are sincere, some aren't. I believe that those who aren't sincere are insecure. They're faith hinges on everyone believing as they do. Those who are sincere will more live their faith than preach it.
Oh and I am not an "unbeliever", I believe differently.

I have a very good relationship with my G-d, thank you. And, I was raised a Christian, and decided they are wrong. There is no G-d but G-d. Why do Christians think you have to say Jesus is holy, in order to have a relationship with G-d?
Christians to respect other religions. That is the worst thing about them.

Your holy book tells you to. I can respect that, because you're doing what you think is right.
It's when the line between "sharing the Gospel" and "proselytizing the Gospel" is crossed that I have an issue with it.
It's one thing to tell me why YOU believe what you do.
It's quite another to tell me that *I SHOULD* believe what you do.

To be perfectly honest, I left Christianity as a young adult and remained agnostic until I found so much MORE in Judaism. The warm fuzzies of Christianity is not enough.

Really I don't care why. It's just another symptom of the greater problem which is christians thinking their rules apply to everyone.
