Muslim women, it is time to empower yourselves regardless of origin and religion. Why would you conform to beliefs that deem you inferior to anyone? I understand that the women in Islamic nations have no choice, but as far as the Muslim women in the U.S., Europe, Canada, you have escaped those gruesome laws, so why not cherish it and live every moment of your freedom rather than feeling like an inferior? You know these beliefs must be ridiculous if you have a MAN telling you that you should do something about them. Look at the feminists in the western world and all they've done for women. I don't even think Hugh Heffner would agree with the way some Islamic nations treat their women.

Nothing happens, and i'm living proof of it! no one knows what goes off behinde close doors, we cant take everything we hear for granted. First of all we know how the media is against muslims anyways, so who knows what the real reason was. I am a muslim and do not wear the hijab, not that im proud of it,it's just that i'm not as strong as other women or have the confidence.
i have never been forced to wear the hijab by my family or husband.

I know a lot of Muslim women that don't wear the hijab at least 20 and nothing happens to them. But of course no one is going to focus in on the normal folks they are going to look at some nutjob in Canada. He was obviously messed up in the head if he could even do that to his child.

Seems like it depends on where they live. In some areas they could be harassed or persecuted for wearing them, i.e. sometimes in America, Europe, etc.
In other areas they can be kidnapped and tortured if they are not wearing the hijab. Happened in Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, etc.

They get beaten with a stick. Don't tell me otherwise, it happens every day in arab countries. It's the law over there. Only in the west there is no such law however, the girls gets beaten by the males in thier family if they don't conform.

i always thought Woman had a choice.
You can wear one or not.But you get more "sawab"(good deeds) for wearing one because it signifise modesty. If you don't but still pray all 5 prayers.
I never heard a girl getting beat for anything like that.People have a choice in this religion. Its more peacful than you think.there are tons of people or women that are muslims but choose to not wear a hijab.
In america alot of ladys are choosing to not, but in other countrys in like asia they are encorging.
So its not a sin.But it is better if you would.
ISlam is peaceful, people are just too ignorant to realize it.....

In 54 out of 57 Islamic countries nothing will happen.
According to the teaching of Islam, a woman should not be forced to wear hijab .. it's something between her and Allah.

if she refused to wear a hijab it would be a big problem. The people that are from her religion would think that she doesn't care about her religion, and they would probably takke her out of that country.

Either they'd have the sh*t beaten out of them by their husbands/fathers/brothers/uncles or else their husband would get turned on, stop shagging the Camel, and start staying home nights instead of wearing out his Jellubah down on his knees at the local Mosque praying for forgiveness for his unworthy thoughts.
I dunno, just a thought

It is a personal decision. No one should force any one to do anything.
Atleast this is what I know about Islam. There is a verse in Quran some where that says that "There is no compulsion in the Religion".
