I'm curious. To those that feel suicide is selfish, why do you think so?
I don't think it is. I've been suicidal, and I've attempted suicide many times. At that point, you'd give the world to make those around you happy - but that's the problem. You can't make others happy, if you can't even make yourself happy. When someone kills themselves, they're not thinking about taking something away from you. And who are you to say that you "own" a part of their life, and they're taking it away, anyway? Maybe some people have just never had someone in their life feel suicidal, or maybe you never have. I know someone that's had more than 20 people in his life either die, or leave him: His parents and other members of his family, his friends, and his friends' parents. He suffers from various mental illnesses, including schizophrenia. He can't live without doses of drugs and countless therapy sessions, and even then, he's barely alive. I guess I just don't understand how that's selfish. Why?
