if someone bought you something as a gift and then asked you for money and you said yes but oneday the person disrespected you by cursing at you and talking down to you, and a couple of days later the person is asking you for the money but when you said no they cursed and yelled at you again, would you pay them the money even if they feel like you owe it to them because of the gift?

No.
Honestly I wouldn't have said yes in the first place. If they wanted me to pay for my own gift I would have just gone out to get it myself.

Sounds like that person has anger issues

Give the gift back and if you don't have it, get one like it. Tell the person you don't have to hear that kind of BS and move on. When someone gives you a gift, you do not owe them any thing for it, as then it would not be a gift. But if you are uncomfortable, give it back!

I don't understand why you need to hand over money for a gift. If you asked the person to purchase something for you as a favour, you should pay them back. It might be easier in the long run if it is a small amount to just pay them to get rid of them. Or..just give them back the gift.

Giving someone a gift doesn't mean you are owed money. I would never give someone a gift just because I wanted something. You give it because you think that person would enjoy it. No, I would not give that person money. I would probably give them back their gift and consider terminating the friendship.

If someone gives you a gift you do not owe them anything. A gift is not a favor.

No, I would not give them any money. A gift is something you give someone and do not expect anything in return.

I would give them both the money and the gift back......and never have anything to do with them again.

If it was a gift you don't owe them anything but a thank you for it.

If they are that hard up for money they shouldn't have purchased a gift for you anyway.

If I was in that situation I wouldn't give them any money.
