last time I checked many boys(children) where abused by priests and Christian followers!
Homosexuals are not a threat nor do they preach their sexual orientation !
so what is it that makes them not welcome at the boy scouts?

You've answered your own question. There are two organizations to which pedarasts flock -- the Catholic Church and the Boy Scouts. The Catholic Church haslied, stonewalled, and transferred pedophile priests from one parish to another in order to provide them with a fresh supply of victim. The Boy Scouts have instituted a "Yell and Tell" educational campaign, have done everything possible to keep pedophiles out of their ranks, and they get treated as if they were -- well, a bunch of perverts. Go figure.

Yes, I know, not all homosexuals are pedarasts. But all pedarasts are, by definition, homosexuals. That's why they keep the homosexuals out.

Saying we should let homosexuals into the Boy Scouts because not all homoexuals are pedarasts is like saying it's okay to play Russian Roulette because most of the time, when you pull the trigger, nothing bad happens. This ignores two essential points: 1) Sometimes, when you pull the trigger, something really awful happens, and 2) the utter pointlessness of the whole enterprise.

For the same reason christians are banned from joining atheist-based groups: because it would make no sense for a homosexual to join a group against homosexuality, just as it would make no sense for a christian to join a group against christianity. Get a clue. And, I don't see anyone complaining to atheist groups when they refuse to hire a christian.

The boy scouts is a private, christian-based organization, and they should not be expected to associate themselves with poeple of differing values, just as an atheist group would not be expected to associate with christians.

I think that it is because they are gay and are surrounded by boys.

Also, boy scouts is a Christian organization. the bible says that homosexuality is a sin.

At a boyscout camp, there are a few girl counselors. They have to sleep away from everybody else. I would assume that the gay boys would not be welcome around the others. It is a little sad that they aren't accepted there, but it is just the way it is.

Homosexuals make up 4-5 percent of the population; however, they are responsible for over 1/3 of reported male-on-male child molestations. That makes people leery. (And in your example, you seem to preclude homosexuals from being Christian -- was that your intent?) And many of those priests you are referring to are -- surprise! -- gay.

Parents encourage their sons to join Boy Scouts because of a well-defined value system and mission. Boy Scouts of America have determined that most families (i.e., financial contributors) are extremely uncomfortable with an openly gay person leading a troop of boys.

Also, many troops in the U.S. are sponsored by churches, which have varying degrees tolerance for homosexuality. If a troop in a strict church had a gay leader, for example, it could lose its charter from the church, and therefore it's financial backing. Therefore, no gays. To most troops, it simply is not worth the risk

And lastly, homosexuality does not fit in with many Scout's view of a portion of the Scout Oath which is recited at each meeting, where Scouts vow to to "To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight." :-)

I suppose its a largely male organisation. So if they had homosexuals it might scare parents off, and they would lose recruits. People are still pretty conservative about these things in many places, and perhaps the organisation shapes its policies to keep up its numbers.

Because the Boy Scouts is an organization based on Christian values, morals, and rules. The Bible tells us homosexuality is wrong, therefore the Boy Scouts do not allow it.

I beg to differ about homosexuals not a threat to anybody. I was gang raped when I was a child by homosexuals. I report gays that go to parks and have sex in public places. I also believe that priest and others that do these things will be thrown into the fire along with the devil

I think I'd fear a homosexual would fall in love with me O.o
Imagine!

I'm 100% straight, and would want to avoid that.
But homosexuals are also very agressive!
At some point, they almost make you seem like you're the wrong one still wanting to have a wife!
It makes me feel uncomfortable; and it's basically the combination of the 2 problems that cause homosexuals to often be rejected.

I wish I could somehow know how to treat them right, without having to fear they'll devellop feelings for me.

The boy scouts is a private organization that requires certain rules of membership like any private club or organization. They can decide who they want in their club or not.

Why aren't women allowed to be members of Augusta National golf club?

Same principle

In my son's cub pack, more than half the parents were either gay or lesbian, even the cubmaster (female-- also against their ridiculous rules) and several den parents. All were openly so.
We had some parents (and kids) who were atheist, as well as others from the Self-Realization Fellowship. We all got along just great, and our kids were happy scouts. WTF?
What BSA doesn't know won't hurt them.
