It could point to the influence of parents on choice of religion. The U.S. was founded in large part by people seeking religious freedom, whereas Australia was founded as a penal colony. (I don't know about the statistics, either, lol).
Peace to you.
EDIT: ok, well I think TBN *may* have a bit of a vested interest in telling their American audience about those "unchurched Australians". "Send us money so we can reach out to them"

The U.S. was founded by God-fearing people, and many others have come here for religious freedom purposes, including Protestants, Catholics, Jews, Muslims, etc.
Australia, God bless them, has never been a Christian nation, according to an Australian acquaintance. The closest they came was during Billy Graham Assn. Evangelistic crusade there in the late 1950's. Maybe the native Aborigines will turn them around.

I have a good friend in Australia who is a strong Christian. He attends a mega-church over there.
I think your statistics are WAY off. Where did you get the 5% from?

Just depends on the history of the area. America was colonized primarily by Christian believers, and they promoted their faith throughout the history of the nation.
Australia is just one of many nations that was not.
That's like saying why aren't there many Christians in China, or India.

America was founded upon Christian / Biblical beliefs.
"America was founded as a Christian Nation according to John Adams:
"The highest history of the American revolution is this:It connected in ONE INDISSOLUABLE BOND the principles of civil government with the principles of CHRISTIANITY". -- John Adam - 2nd President of the U S
" The American nation from its first settlement at Jamestown to this hour is BASED UPON and permeated BY THE PRINCIPLES OF THE BIBLE". Supreme Court Justice David Joseph Breiver (1837-1910)

Christains in the USA understand where their daily bread comes from. There has been many a farmer in the US that has worked hard and lost his crops due to problems. I have seen times when things appeared absolutely hopeless yet somehow things happen for the good and it cant be explained.

Where did you get those figures from? Australia is about 60-70% Christian, 10% miscellaneous and 20% no religion. And we don't eat kangaroos that often. Mostly beef, lamb and poultry.
