What are the sources of the following? The Great Commandment, the "Golden" rule, and the passage where Jesus told his followers not to pray on street corners but in private.

You are just trusting what it says. Unless God spoke to you anmd told you in person that they are real (I'd like to see that). The bible we read is far from the original... how accurate can it be?

It seems really silly to me that christians and the church are calling to boycott the Golden Compass Movie. I am an atheist, and don't really notice or care for that matter, if a movie has a religious theme or not. I enjoyed Narnia, and didn't notice that it had a christian theme.
I haven't seen the Golden Compass yet, but my question is this:
Why are christians more concerned with the Golden Compass depicting an evil church and souls in animal form, which is clearly FICTION, than with a movie that is also, clearly FICTION (narnia) that uses the story of Jesus? To me, Narnia could create more questioning in the mind of a child... they could associate how fictional the story of narnia is, and that the story of Jesus is similar in many ways, so it may be fictional as well?
Rather than a movie where EVERYTHING is fictional, just as any other movie?

i read on a site that you NEED a teacher...so far i'm a self-taught novice in a small town where i can't just go around saying "i'm wiccan" and expect to be accepted with open arms. It also said that since we NEED a teacher the teacher will find you instead of you finding them...that reallly confused me...but...is it true?
)O(
blessed be!

"I cannot conceive of a personal God who would directly influence the actions of individuals or would sit in judgment on creatures of His own creation. I cannot do this in spite of the fact that mechanistic causality has, to a certain extent, been placed in doubt by modern science. My religiosity consists in a humble admiration of the infinitely superior spirit that reveals itself in the little that we, with our weak and transitory understanding, can comprehend of reality." Albert Einstein, 1927

Just wondering whether you reject ANY idea of "God" or whether you're specifically against the Judaic - Christian - Islamic conception of God.

These days the churches are so tightly packed, busy with schedules, activities etc all for God'sake. Paul says, "Faith comes from Hearing, and hearing from the WORD of GOD"

Daily lets sanctify our lives, making it a sweet fragrance before the LORD. And let our Christian life be guided according to the WORD.

For this, how many of you read the Bible on daily basis?
Remember, its the food to your soul. GOD BLESS!!

When asked about the quest to find out about the world around us "Fish" replied.........

"Why work hard at learning things when you already have the answers. When I repair my car I don't spend days figuring out how a system works, I simply pick up a book and find the answers. We do that in cooking (cookbooks) for example. If you want answers to life, consult the Bible."

That scares me......... especially the first line.

Where are we headed as a society with thinking (or indeed non thinking) like this.
