Spirit comes from God. Body is made of contents of earth. Spirit and soul are two names of same thing. Spirit has Godly qualities to do only good. It can be strenghtend by remembering and glorifying God's attributes, thanking and worshipping God on daily basis. Such people obey God's all teachings and do not commit sins.
When one denies to believe on God or believes on God only superificial way but never obeys teachings of God, his spirit gets weaker for not getting the food for its strength. He keeps fullfilling the desires of self which are against the teachings of religion. He indulges in illegal sex, alcohols, gambling, stealing etc. His Self (body) doesn't like hardship but loves comfort and puts ideas in his mind to get money the easiest way like stealing, robbing, gambling and cheating others etc. Such person's Self becomes too strong and controls the weak Spirit. Self doesn't allows him to live the life that God or religions teaches. Such person is easy target for Satan and he keeps getting deeper and deeper in sinful life.
The person whose spirit is stronger keep the self in control and he doesn't obey self. Even when self suggests to do the wrong things, his Spirit immediately rejects the idea. He always knows what is the right thing to do even if he is poorer person, his life is hard and he can not afford the luxuries of this life.
God loves such spirits most because they develop closeness with God by living God's way of life. They are the ones who get in Heaven for sure. Even if he stays away from sins, he prays God and asks His forgiveness every day to make sure that he remains close to God and does not loose the Heave in next life.

The spirit is NOT ENERGY... the spirit is SPIRIT. Spirit is an entirely different "entity." If spirit were energy, then you could say that we have a "spirit crisis" instead of an "energy crisis." Energy is the stuff that POWERS things. Spirit does not power, nor IS it power. Exactly WHAT it is really IS a mystery.
