We sometimes did our tree on Thanksgiving and when I was very young, the tree of course had to be gone soon after New Year's.

Then, we got an artificial tree....

My mom would leave it up until the last day of January and I remember coming in after school a month after Christmas and still feeling that same awe that I had when it was first set up.

On bad days at school, it was very reassuring to me.

So, you guessed it. I decorate on or, as soon after Thanksgiving as possible and this year, am thinking, you know the last day of January sounds like a plan....

how many of you really tasted the effect of the forgiveness of sins, (ie what was Redemption Accomplished at Calvary by the Lord Jesus at Calvary) brought by the blessed Holy Spirit effectually into your life? ?

Now what makes you think you indeed experience the effectual working of the Holy Spirit in your life, that you are counted as if 5 out of the 603550 rather than the vast majority who is in the Church in the wilderness (Acts 7:38)??

I've put a lot of thought into the meaning of my next tattoo. Ive decided on "Serenity" (from the serenity prayer" The problem is, I don't really want to get just the word tattooed on me. When you see people talking about how they are spending £200+ on their children's Christmas Presents?

My son has just turned one. We are on a low income as I've decided to stay home with him for his first year (looking for a job after Christmas) and my partner is low waged. The most we can spend on his Christmas presents this year is £50. We don't have credit cards etc and haven't been able to save up because of a few unexpected bills in the last month.

I know he'll love his presents but it makes me feel like such a bad mother that I can't spend £200 on him. If I had the money I would buy him the whole world as he is the whole world to me.

I get so many answers about what happens when you die

Some CHRISTIANS say you sleep... forever

Well, I'm an Atheist who loves to hear religious debate. I keep an open mind, but I am sensible. I believe in science and also try to be a logical thinker. I used to be a christian until I started studying theology in my spare time. I think it is funny how most religious people when approached about the existence of god say to prove he doesnt exist. But like in court, in order to prove that something happened the duty of evidence lies with the prosecution. (you are saying god is real with no evidence supporting that claim.) Well, that's not really a good start on trying to convert someone, so I was wondering if anyone else wanted to try a different approach.
Now if anyone gets on here and starts ranting, remember christians, it's your duty to bring the lost sheep back to the lord, not drive them away. lol.
So does anyone wanna try to convert me? Go ahead, I'll listen if you make a good point.
