I think we are possibly looking at a rebirth in progress rather than a death. Our country is in turmoil and disarray . Hopefully with new leadership we can turn our attention around from the rest of the world to our own country. Maybe in Iraq we have learned that we cannot fix the woes of the world and stop trying to impose our way of life on those that live differently. Our money and our manpower need to be refocused to improve our country for our citizens.

Iraq is far from a mess. Afghanistan is doing quite well.
You far leftists should tell the truth maybe, at least, once in a while.
Btw, Iraq is selling it's oil on the open market. If the US was stealing it's oil then why is the price so high?

I'm an American (U.S.A.) and I'm sorry to say, that yes that is what you are witnessing, thanks to our airhead alcoholic president and other deeds of selfish mismanagement and bad judgment from not only his administration but other problem companies.
George Bush talks like he's operating on 30% of his brain cells, and his skills as a president are very questionable. Most Americans are very embarrassed that he is in office. He has a 27% approval rating, and most of us in U.S.A. didn't vote for him. Remember the first time he made it into the oval office, he wasn't elected. He was appointed by the U.S.A. Supreme Court. Many people forget that. And who knows what happened the second time which questions of shady tactics in the state of Ohio.
People are investing in other countries like China and Dubai-U.A.E.; they are not investing in the U.S.A. We might still be the richest country in the world, but so what. We may not be 50 years from now. And in other first world countries a broader segment of their population gets to have higher standards of living than we do (e.g. Australia, Canada)
There is no question in my mind that the U.S.A. is in Iraq for oil. If we are not, then why do all the military bases run along the oil pipeline? To prevent sabotage? Oh really? :\ Smells like "fish" to me.

The death? This IS ugly American imperialism in progress--more blatant and unabashed than it has been for quite a while.

If they're stealing the oil, then why am I paying $3.50 per gallon?
