Zen Pirate - re. coming to your home town to gloat over the death of a soldier: If there is such a place as hell, then these people will be going there for that one thing alone.

These people are a particularly horrible group. They actually came to my state in a bus when a young man from my hometown was killed in Iraq to hold signs along the route to the funeral his parents had to take saying stuff like God killed him and was glad, he deserved to be killed because the U.S. tolerates homosexuals, etc....They are really sick people.

Thanks V, I agree that if there is a God they are not condoning this kind of vile hate and prejudice. If there is not a God they have wasted the precious opportunity to live lives of joy and love. These people will only congregate with those who share their hate and they feed off the hate and prejudice from each other. They cut themselves off from a lot of joy and love and waste time and energy that could be spent making the world a more loving place with these sorts of activities instead. All because they believe they must use the life they have been given to promote this stuff in order to get to the heaven of their beliefs. They do seem like a cult to me. What a waste of human life.

I'm absolutely sick at heart.

You are right.

Did you ever hear of James Jones who gathered his followers and ended leading them to Giana.

They all committed suicide as a group.

Or maybe it was that he poisoned them including himself.

I don't remember the details because it was so horrendous, that I had to block it out of my mind.

God doesn't hate people, but those wackos, hate God.

This is a need to know thing but at the same time it's so horrible that I don't know if I can get over it.

Dear God in Heaven, save us from the likes of these evil, vile people.

Oh My !!!!!

I'm a Christian and i DO NOT HATE GAYS.

This is a sicko that has the sickest kind of charisma that can lead this type of people down the path to Hell with a plan to fill his pockets and to hell with the rest.

I don't even want to look at it. The Westboro Baptists are the worst kinds of hate-mongers. They're an evil cult as far as I'm concerned. I think the state should take their kids from them.

The most vile thing I had ever heard was when Atheist Machine posted a question asking if people would sacrifice their children if god asked them to.

The astounding numbers of 'LIEK ONG YES!111111!1232!2@" made me sick to my stomach.

--

Edit:

Corrosion EAC, did you see that question? It -literally- made me ill. It was just awful! So many people were spewing crap about how they'd happily sacrifice their children because god would "send them something much better." It was disgusting. I had never been happier to be a heathen than I was with that question. Those people are mental and need to be buried chin high in the sand at low tide.

--

Edit:

They are awful, awful people! Ugh. Just sickens me terribly to even THINK about it. It was a wonderful question, though. If I wasn't afraid of the horrible answers I'd read, I'd ask it again myself.

That is so disgusting and creepy.

People like that have no right to reproduce. People will think what they want but there are lines and it was just crossed.

Ugh, humans disgust me, we are the only animal that does this, and I don't think it's anything to be proud of.

We're all familiar with these crackpots. Christians and atheists alike agree on Westboro.

Atheist, I agree. If a god demands your children, how can they be worth your worship?

Yes, I saw that question and was floored by the responses. My Christian parents would have stood side by side and said "Over OUR dead bodies, let's get it on, god!'

Well, that's interesting. For some reason this reminds me of Jonathan Edwards "Sinners in the Hands of and Angry God".

Pure evil, remind me of pinball balls. Not KNowing where they're going, yet strong.

Yeah, but then again, I don't agree with 99% of what comes out of that "church".
